an older photo, taken on ~disgracian 's camera. this is lake weeroona before the water level dropped because of the current drought. the birds just don't look as happy anymore, and a sunset like this won't be seen for a long time to come. so this is a slice of history if you like. to me, it kind of feels like 'going home', it has a nice feeling for the end of a day. enjoy

it's pretty bad, and without laying blame, our government really could have made some earlier provisions to avoid it getting this bad. i don't think we use our water nearly as wisely as we could, especially in winter (emptying public swimming pools into lakes etc would be a good start)... piping water from places which catch a lot but pour it into the ocean, etc..

I agree. Country people seem to be more aware of the problems than the city people. Well, Perth anyway. They are still chucking the water on lawns and into swimming pools and cleaning their cars with a hosepipe. They ought to see how some of the farmers are coping. I'm fortunate to be on scheme water, but a friend of mine who has water tanks and dams that are almost dry, has to recycle her water. Such as catching her shower water in a bucket and then using it elsewhere, such as washing floors, before putting it on the garden. She so loves her garden, but it's looking pretty sad now.
