Description
My final submission for game artisans "Chicks Riding Stuff" contest. Pretty happy with how it came out and I learned alot about texturing metal with diffuse only, so its was a fun experience.Lemme know your thoughts
Concept can be found here : [link]
EDIT: First off thank you very much for the DD, but of all the 3D characters here on DA to give a DD to why this one lol?!
I really do appreciate the support, but if you wanna see some 3D characters that are truly masterpieces please check out:

it's funny, you link to work you think some masterpiece credentials deserve recognition, and all artists you pointed to have gotten DD's (and have been recognised for their work already)
your art was chosen because it too, is good. And it shows your progression.

Thanks very much man, it means alot. Hopefully my comment wasn't a slap in the face either, I really do appreciate you putting this piece up for a DD, it just feels weird to look back at an old piece and all I see is the glaring flaws and poor technique I had then. Really glad your seeing improvement in my work

No problem! not at all! just wanted to let you know, those other artists were recognised too!
Oh i know you're improving for sure, and as a low poly model, it's very well done. I know what you mean by looking at old work and sighing about it, but i suggested your work, particularly that piece because it shows your development well.
Kinda like a 'look at his origins now look at his newer work! a definite artist to pay attention too!' sort of deal.
I just hope it didn't bother you was more my concern!

Excellent modeling here, and as the DD said, amazing job of staying true to the concept art. I did some modeling way back when, but never low-poly, and I can definitely appreciate how much time and effort must have gone into maximizing details while minimizing poly count. And those textures are SLICK! Great job all around, you deserved this.

Isn't it 3DS Max? I looked in his profile and that's one of his "tools".
Kinda cool, but why the hell is she so damn skinny? How about a woman that won't break when you touch her?

Other than the fact that she looks as if she's had her innards removed, this is a fantastic piece. The girl looks great, and the bike looks fantastic.

Wow, that is so cool!! I've been looking into programs for 3D character creation... what did you use for this? Or what do you recommend for a beginner?

Alternatively you can try GMax if you're just looking to learn - it's basically 3ds max watered down. You can't export or render any of your models but it is fantastic for learning how 3ds max works and you can see if you like how 3ds feels before you buy it.

I used 3dsMAx, which is also what I would recommend for a beginner. It is expensive however, so Blender is great for a free 3D modeling app.

Yeah, when you could still get away with rendered 3d sprites and still be considered professional quality state of the art.

Yeah the edgy wheels are an unusual choice o.o; But I love your texturing I wish I had had the patience with that when I was studying 3D!

This is one thing i have a hard time doing... making low poly objects... my texture skills are lacking and when i look at an object, i prefer to make it look real... this adds hours upon days to the project.... sometimes i end up not finishing it.
