my first intro to the character was back when Steve Rogers first quit being Captain America. the government that had Taskmaster as a prisoner and was using him to train this new guy to take of over for Rogers.

Super Patriot, John Walker, who would become U.S.Agent after Cap got the mantle back. My intro came in his first appearance in Avengers 195 back in the 80's.
