Me and my partner feed the chippies every afternoon. They have taught us what kind of peanuts they prefer. They are curious little animals, all with their own personalities. One that has been coming for two years now is quite aggressive but she is the only one that allows us to pet her. If she is on our leg being fed, heaven help any other chippie who comes up at the same time. She chases them and beats them up. They are mostly solitary, living alone except when breeding which they can do twice a year, usually with a different male. They burrow extensively, reserving separate areas for the bathroom, and food storage. They don't hibernate but sleep soundly, waking every few days to feed during the winter.

If it was a moose, I wouldn't feed him! If you feed chippies you will have a job for life (feeding chippies).
