Lewis wiped the tears off of his face as he desperately tried to get the machines up and running. He glanced up at Duncan to find him already unconscious. He looked over to the group of scientists at a table across from his. They put a thumb in the air to signal Duncan’s vitals were stable.
Lewis continued his work non-stop for a good hour but none of the machines responded. His high hopes to save his friend dwindled down. He slowed his pace as he got closer and closer to the end of his list of machines. A testificate placed his hand on his shoulder and shook his head.

“The liquid that we added to the water should preserve his body for the mean time, but I don’t think he’s going to make it out of that. He was the only one who knew how to operate the cloning machines be were just all his assistants. There’s only a couple more machines to try and we haven’t had any of the machines running for years now. This area was supposed to be demolished remember?”

“W-well we-we-WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING D*MNIT!” Lewis slammed his fist down on the control board as more tears threatened to escape.

“We have to do something…anything…I’m sorry Duncan. I’m so sorry…” The testificate reached over to a leaver that controlled Duncan’s air supply.

“W-Wait what are you doing!?”

“I’m sorry but it’s the only thing we can do.”

“S-stOP IT!. DON’T TOUCH THAT!” Lewis lunged at him, other testificates ran to restrain him and pulled him back away from the control board.

“STOP! STOP IT PLEASE! YOU’LL KILL HIM! WE CAN SAVE HIM! WE HAVEN’T TESTED THE OTHER MACHINES. STOP IT DAMNIT!” The testificate switched the leaver down and the mixture of gas and air was cut off from Duncan. He woke up with a violent jerk and began gasping for air. He began screaming for help.

And Lewis lost it.
