Description Thought I'd try something different. I made a cartoon infographic addressing a common myth about the Bible. Curious what people think. Is this something you'd like to see more of or should I just focus on the jokey stuff? As always, feel free to share.

Hmm... very nicely explained, indeed. That did clarify quite a lot, thanks.
But, does this mean that there IS this source. Like, we have THE documents that were used to make the Bible, is that so?

Great question. No, we don't have the original writings of the Bible, but actually don't have the originals of ANY ancient documents, including Homer's Iliad, Caesar's account of the Gallic Wars, etc. So I've tweaked the wording of the cartoon to reflect that. But when we look at all those early copies scattered around and see how consistent they are we can feel fairly confident that the originals were copied faithfully. Also, if you take the New Testament and compare it to other ancient writings there are more copies than any other historical writings from the time. Also, the time period between when the originals were written and when the earliest existing copies were made is shorter for the New Testament than for any other ancient manuscripts. In other words, someone wants to say the Bible can't be trusted because we don't have the originals then they would also have to say we can't trust ANY writings from ancient history. Hope that makes sense. Have a great day!
