this is adorable . I love it! It's as if kari was with splinter, running from Japan whenever her mother was killed. and they decided to buy the baby turtles and on the way home the mutagen hit splinter and the turtles and they changed but she didn't. So since she was still little she still lives with them this is totally would have what would have happened.! and with kids being as silly as they are since they bought the baby turtles from the pet shop she would still call them pets while she's little.

It's actually the opposite though where Leo was
separated from the others at the time of their
mutation and picked up by Foot soldiers, brought
back to Shredder, and raised as a personal guard/pet.
