another old one form when I started digital drawing. Even with a lot of beginner mistakes (I didn't know how to render and my way of doing lights was using an air brush with white color in overlay on top of every other layer, OOF) that I hate to look at right now, I like the background and this one carries a very big moment in my artist life. Back in the day I was a lot into Jim Lee's work, like, A LOT. I didn't miss a single stream, watched all the vods from the ones before I knew he streams, watched the clips from streams where he did tutorials, anyway, I was trying my best to follow his steps and make my drawings as dynamic and detailed as possible. Anyway, when I was doing this Gwen, I struggled a lot with the background because I was taking a bigger step than my legs could handle, so I asked for help in Jim's discord for a few ideas. Some people were nice and really helped, but others trolled a little bit doing random backgrounds in their phones but no big deal, it was fun and I took it as an innocent joke between artists. Later that night I went to check discord again between a few League matches and someone mentioned me.... It was Jim himself. Jim Lee, the freaking COO of DC Comics took some time to download my drawing and draw a background on it, even just joking around. I thought I would have a heart attack. This gave me the feeling that I was doing the right thing, if I didn't get back to drawings, this would never happen just like things that happened after this and the amazing people I've met. PS: there are 6 easter eggs/references in this illustration, some are pretty obvious others are kinda try hard, can you tell them all?
