My favourite cranky tomcat of a detective, John Blacksad. The first two are my attempt to go at it by memory, and the last one is finally done with reference. Character rightly belongs to Juan Díaz Canales (writer) and Juanjo Guarnido (artist).---

John's the main character in a graphic novel, Blacksad. I can't really explain how cool he is since he is supposed to be the stereotypical cranky detective in a film noir setting. The whole story is a total eye candy (each panel is painstakingly watercoloured!), and the character development is really good. However, it is really matured because it deals with politics, sexual issues, and racism. I recommend you to give it a try anyway

Oh man that comic is so great...I love the dark spots on him...his head and under his shoulder....it looks delightfully harsh and noir....if that word can even be used in that way
