I can see the line, but with all the other accurate details I would imagine the artist would know enough about fabric movement to not have a straight line where a fold should be. If the hand was wrapped all the way around a sleeve that loose, then the sleeve would bunch inward and there would be an overflow of fabric over the thumb. Hence why I asked the question.
