If you're Unbidden were as strong as the ones I encountered, those defenses will not be enough. But if you put a 70K or higher fleet in the middle then maybeΒ

Well this was before a super buff patch so they were probably weaker here.

Yeah because they hit me with 2 fleets of 100K plus and two other fleets hit other systems rated at 90K

...especially since paradox turbobuffed the unbidden with the 1.2 patch.

i think the unbidden are just much stronger upon spawning. the reason is because once this happened, most players either managed to get the majority of the galaxy in an alliance OR the unbidden simply just got the entire galaxy separately warring them due to alliances, ultimately crushing them fairly fast, and defeating the purpose of the crisis and essentially ending the game in a hilariously anticlimactic way.

Not to mention that now a second portal opens with yellow Unbidden. I read in the threads how in pre-1.2 games the Unbidden would spawn inside a Fallen Empire and as soon as they came they would be gone.
