For anyone looking at my face in the photography & art I upload here and thinking that I'm nearly perfect—I am, and I'm not. One, I deal in photography and photo editing, so altering each image to the satisfaction of my creative vision is only natural. This aside, I have plenty of 'imperfections', things that aren't considered mainstream aesthetic or pleasing for the 'virtual' eye, yet that's not the lense through which I choose to view myself or the human body in general, it hasn't been for years. I love my body for holding my spirit in this lifetime. I'm deeply grateful for it and I try my best to treat it well and honor it. This hasn't always been the case, but thankfully it is now. It was a long journey from the judgemental mindset I was once holding—from shame and self-loathing—to self-love, acceptance and appreciation. Today I can say that I am perfect with all my imperfections (if there's such thing at all), and so is everyone else, and really mean it. Our unique stories are written in our bodies and they're not meant for anyone else, not meant for any ego, but for the only one who can truly understand and appreciate the beauty of it all—our own soul. The point I'm trying to make here is this: We're not porcelain dolls, we're human beings and we are Art, head to toe—marvelous, unique and beautiful! One step further, we are the soul having a human experience and having a body for awhile—both perfect as they are, both to be embraced and cherished and to be let go of eventually.
