You're work is beautiful! Detaild and it captures the movement of the animals perfectly like a picture was taken!

If you let me know where you are at, I might be able to recommend some herding instructors for you. It's a lot of fun and very addictive. The only downside is that it can be a little expensive.

I've just started getting into herding but I am unsure of some of the things I have to do for titles. I have an aussie and she just passed a Herding instinct fun test with three sheep

In regards to herding: First find a good herding instructor in your area and start taking lessons. Trialing your dog is much different than a herding instinct test which basically shows that your dog has a sustained interest in the stock. There is a lot to learn in regards to pressure and how stock move. Herding is a lot of fun though and very addictive!
If you are in the U.S. there are AKC trials, AHBA trials (American Herding Breed Association) and ASCA (Australian Shepherd Club of America) trials. These are all a great place to start and all offer beginning titles as well as advanced titles on ducks/geese, sheep, and cattle. All of these have websites that explain their herding title programs in more detail.
Hope that helps and if you have more questions on herding, just give me a shout and I'll answer what I can

I've e-mailed a couple of my herding buddies to see if they know of any herding instructors in Wisconsin. You should also contact ASCA to see if they could give you some herding instructor contacts in your area.

I recintly took Kechara(my dog) to a herding clinic run by an ASCA herding judge but I was only ablt to enter the herding instinct fun test. the actually training was too expancive for me. The trainers name was Marie Murphy of Diamond Aire kennels and we will be getting our next puppy from her

Mary Murphy is who was recommended to me as a herding instructor for your area. Yes, herding training is not cheap, but you really need to have it in order to trial your dog in herding trials.

Thank you! I herd with my Border Collies, so spend a good amount of time at herding trials. I love doing pieces of working dogs doing what they were originally bred to do.

Thank you No, I don't live on an actual farm - just an acre. I grew up on a ranch with horses and cattle. I take my dogs to my herding instructor's place to work them on the sheep. Gotta watch those sheep
Talk about devious! One knocked my completely off my feet last fall when I was training my youngest dog and I ended up with a really nasty concussion.

OUch!!! Well i dont have anything that interest!! Apart from an unusual ammount of cats!! hehe. An they r evil!! They will go under your feet!! They start when they are kittens just jumping over your feet. Then as they grow they get heavier and become more of an obsticle and heavy ones at that, then before you know it...*thud* flat on your face! hehehe

I've tripped over the dogs more times than I can even think about because they all insist on being right where I am and getting their noses into whatever I am doing. They are convinced I can't do anything without their help Gotta love 'em though!
