Thanks! I got the colors pretty rich in the background with a mix of water, watercolor, and color pencil. Getting that color pencil wet really made it pop for some reason but sometimes it just turns into a mess.

Have you tried watercolor pencil instead of colored pencil? They are a lot of fun You're welcome

oh yes I use those too I use anything I can get my hands on. depends on what color or effect I need at the moment. I've even used tea, coffee, cocoa powder, and paprika.

thanks! with natural ingredients usually what I do is simply mix them with water and paint with them-- but in some cases you need to strain out the powder or grains using a coffee filter or you'll get the grounds in your art. although that might be a desired effect. and with tea and coffee sometimes you need to make a really, really strong batch for the best results. but if you just want a light wash or tint then regular will due. this is the kind of things I discover when I'm too poor to buy art supplies.

Thanks for the tips. I'm gonna try it. My husband is a huge coffee lover so we have a bunch in the house. Art supplies are so dang expensive. I think you are a mad genius to work with what you have. LOVE IT!
