Description

Buks are small nut-like creatures that live in mountainous regions, usually near forested areas. The small flower on their head is what grants them their energy; as the flower absorbs water and sunlight, Buks can move around and perform more tasks.

The Buk’s main body and feet are connected via magnetism; while they can seperate, it takes a lot of force to actually prevent the feet from returning to the main Buk. A Buk that looses its feet is generally defenseless and will most likely not survive for very long.

When a Buk dies or its life is severely threatened, its flower explodes in a last-ditch effort, releasing seeds as it does so. These seeds can be used for a wide variety of things, and in some areas are considered a delicacy when topped with rock salt. Some troublemakers like to force a Buk’s flower to release its seeds by startling wild Buk, and then use the seeds to create their own explosives. Since a Buk only grows one flower in its lifetime, its only a matter of time before the Buk cannot move on its own anymore.

Besides the aforementioned edible and explosive seeds, Buks themselves are hunted for other reasons. Helmets and armor made from a Buk’s thick skin are highly sought after due to their durability and bulletproof-like tendencies. The Molemen enjoy hunting Buks and using them as fuel to light up their underground homes.
