Description
Merlin's Cave, Tintagel, Cornwall. 17-08-2011.Geoffrey of Monmouth gives Merlin a key role in the conception of Arthur at Tintagel. Tennyson made Merlin's Cave famous in his Idylls of King Arthur. Tennyson described waves bringing the infant Arthur to the shore, and Merlin carrying him to safety. Local legend has long associated this cave with Merlin and Arthur.
Merlin's Cave is on the right side of the rock at Tintagel (if you are standing facing the sea). It is very atmospheric, and one might indeed imagine Merlin approaching, with his staff held up to light up the darkness of the cave.
The steps down to the cave have been washed away and are blocked off. The only way down today is to clamber down the rocks to the beach. The cave fills with water at high tide, but has a sandy floor and is explorable at low tide. The cave goes all the way through the rock, and there is a smaller cave off it that can be entered on the southern side.

I KNOW! I don't know why I don't just move over there or something. Why not? I've got nothing keeping me here aside from being poor!
Yay staying with Catherine!!

OK it's a plan! I can live in a closet or something, I'm pretty small and low maintenance. I hope you don't mind French Tourette's, which probably will turn into Welshy Welsh Tourette's. Or Frelsh, which kind of happened when I first started taking French classes.

I'm sure we could put you in a bedroom! No need to squeeze into a closet! Lol. French tourettes would be very exciting... bring a touch of class to the household!

Oh boy, that's even better!! I'm excited about this adventure. Let's make it happen!
I'm not sure that French tourettes would bring class to the household, mostly just because it's me randomly shouting "HON HON HOOONNN!!! BAGUETTE!!" and things like that.
