Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present to you, in all his glory; His Regal Highness Lord Halcyon Knight.

This is his finalized design, (finally!); there are three deviations mixed in my gallery of different concept art I had for him. The basic colors remained the same throughout planning his appearance; lots of white. He was always either white or extremely pale blue from the start. I decided to kick the blue and bring it back in the form of that nice cobalt in his wings, above the black. The feather patterns are the same of the dorsal side, by the way. I like prehistoric birds and bird ancestors, so I incorporated that originally as him having the wings and tail of an archaeopteryx, which was also a play off of his age. Because he is REALLY old. But as I keep looking at it, I scratched that as well, or at least, the bony lizard tail with feathers running down it that was starting to bother me, so I switched to a more confuciusornis look, and then to microraptor, and then a sort of mix, leaving me with the large feathered wings with those cute/creepy(?) little claw-fingers, a long, thin, scaled tail with a feathered tuft at the end, and sat back to admire my work. He always had a crest and horns, (those aforementioned horns should actually be a faintly creamy, off-white, but my scanner kills colors). He always had yellow eyes. Paler than Meta Knight's appear to be, but bright and steely.

The first few times I drew him, he was either unarmored completely or wrapped up in his cape, (which is not shown here because he has his wings out), as a sort of excuse to not have to attempt to design his armor. The mask changed several times. The visor kept the same basic shape, and I wanted that spikey rim above it and the little prong-things Meta Knight has on his. Watch you see above is my end result. I love how the armor came out for him, especially because I'd only sketched this full, final design once before I drew this picture!

The name for this piece was undoubtedly the easy part. "Freezing Reign" is a pun off of "Freezing Rain", like, the weather (duh) and (WARNING: HEADCANONS INCOMING) I decided a while ago that maybe each individual puffball will have a certain affinity towards a certain copy ability; like Meta's would probably be sword, and after seeing HTTYD 2, and having Valka's Bewilderbeast spontaneously remind me of this guy, (as well as some other reasons) I came to the conclusion I wanted his to be ice. So here he is on his ice throne. That he probably made himself. Chillin'. Being cool. (too many puns I'm sorry). So that's the freeze part. Reign because he is sorta-kinda a king-ish-thing. His actual name is Chancellor, (b/c it sounds old and fanceh), but the title of Halcyon is both the position he holds, and the regnal name that each knight who becomes the Halcyon must take. (HEADCANONS OVER. FOR NOW. THEY NEVER REALLY STOP. I HAVE A PROBLEM.)

He does wield a sword. I have NOT finalized the sword yet. I shall hopefully attempt that next.

I'll probably make a nice sort of bio for him and upload it later.
