Sorry, Count, but you might have to consult with Morgan Freeman. He played a vegetarian vampire as one of his many characters in the '70s, during the old Electric Company series.

Yeah, I agree with that.
Count Duckula was the first vegetarian vampire before Twilight ... or before I read The Last Vampire...

Any chance we might be able to direct Von Goosewing towards a Cullen?

You're welcome. I recently started watching Count Duckula, and it's a really great funny show. It's too bad that a lot of people don't really know about it.

So wish this happened. Duckula and Bunnicula need to sue Twilight

I prefer Duckula to Twilight any day myself.

LOL! Great job on the artwork, and on the jab at a certain franchise I can barely even stand to mention by name. Yeah, Duckula came more than two decades earlier, AND was MUCH funnier! :-D

Is a veggie because of a mistake in the process of his creation. Still, he couldn't get started in the motion picture business because vampires don't reflect or photograph.
Guess they weren't casting for "The Invisible Man".

But every vampire lore has different rules on the "reflect/not reflect" thing. I also remember early Danger Mouse episodes where CD was trying to get into show business, so there must have been some exception in their world.
(Also, it's a duck... talking... and wearing clothing. I don't think the usual rules apply.)

Alas, there are no standard canon rules for vampires, witches, zombies, ghosts, ghouls, or ANY supernatural figures that science or human experience can reproducably demonstrate.

True, so then you get some weird interpretations.

And Duckula dressed like a proper vampire too - none of your trendy beardy modern vamps for me!

It could be funny to see Duckula with a Duck Bella.
Actually there have been vampires that walk in teh daylight on film before like The Hunger (1983) with David Bowie.

Hehehe! Twilight! HEYYY! That gives me an IDEA! What IF... There was a Duckula version of Twilight? YEAAAH! That would be AWESOME!
But it's just a thought
Great JOB on this

*valley girl voice* Like, whatver? You don't even sparkle!
Now seriously, I thought the same about Twilight. Come on, the "vegetarian vampires who don't die with sunlight" has been done before. Why dos everyone think Meyers came up with it?
Besides, Ducky-Boos is way, waybetter and cuter than Edward will ever hope to be.

It's nice to see others had the same thought as me. (It also helps that you drew Duckula perfectly, as well.) You know, now that I think about it, Twilight also steals the idea of "wampires" being able to walk around in the daylight too. Poor ducky-boos, having the big mean Edward steal his shtick.

WOAH! total 1980's flashback batman. such an awesome combo- I'm surprised Nickelodeon (or whomever owns Duckula) hasn't tried anything against Meyers.

Not enough to really cause a ruckus, but wouldn't it have been great if Nick decided to rerun the show, advertising the "original" veggie vampire? The campaign sells itself!

I think Nick rerunning Duckula would be kind of hard because they don't actually own the rights but I think ITV could possibly rerun it which I know sounds very unlikely but you never know.
If not you can at least buy the whole series on DVD.

I don't see it happening, either, but I'll have to put the dvd's next to my Danger Mouse collection.

I think you can only get the first series on DVD in the US but you can buy the complete series box set from the UK, and best of all it's region free so it can be watched anywhere in the world.

they totally should re-release it. though I've noticed them shying away from most of their mid 80s, 90s cartoons in favor of live action sitcoms like iCarly.

Well, in Duckula's case it could be a legal issue. I mean, I don't think Nick actually owns it being a British cartoon and all.
