Description
Β© Coral McBride --- Do Not Use Without My Permission.Full view Please as the details in this artwork with 96 layers, caused me more blood sweat and tears than any other.
A broken heart is caused by the ending of a relationship. This can be caused by death or by a relationship that has ended or never eventuated.
'The Sound of a Heart Breaking' is symbolic. The ocean with it's huge waves symbolises drowning in emotions that threaten to overwhelm us. The blood represents feeling as if our heart has been torn from our chest. We are completely alone with our tears, our anger, sorrow, guilt, and despair, so we cling to whatever we can and grieve for what might have been. The seagulls symbolise that day to day life has to go on for those around us and eventually for us too.
I Measure Every Grief - by - Emily Dickinson
I measure every grief I meet
With analytic eyes;
I wonder if it weighs like mine,
Or has an easier size.
I wonder if they bore it long,
Or did it just begin?
I could not tell the date of mine,
It feels so old a pain.
I wonder if it hurts to live,
And if they have to try,
And whether, could they choose between,
They would not rather die.
I wonder if when years have piled--
Some thousands--on the cause
Of early hurt, if such a lapse
Could give them any pause;
Or would they go on aching still
Through centuries above,
Enlightened to a larger pain
By contrast with the love.
The grieved are many, I am told;
The reason deeper lies,--
Death is but one and comes but once
And only nails the eyes.
There's grief of want, and grief of cold,--
A sort they call 'despair,'
There's banishment from native eyes,
In sight of native air.
And though I may not guess the kind
Correctly yet to me
A piercing comfort it affords
In passing Calvary,
To note the fashions of the cross
Of those that stand alone
Still fascinated to presume
That some are like my own.

It seemed to me to be a lot but I was reading that a professional artist used 367 layers and that it was not unusual for her.....I think I will stick to under 100 and thank you for the compliment

You're very welcome Bonnie, although I have experienced it myself and not just once. Time is the only healer although the scars will always remain. You are not alone as many people go through this pain. I will be thinking of you and hoping that you are healing and that each day becomes a little easier
