You looked at the young earl confused. "Um isn't the white pawn the one that starts first?" You asked a bit insecure, not knowing if he would be mad or not.
The earl chuckled. "You are the first one to ever correct me, Miss. (l/n)." Ciel said as he took his pawn back.
"I-I am?" You asked, surprised and made your first move.
Ciel nodded. "You either have a lot of courage or you're just stupid." He said and moved his pawn. You blinked slightly. "So rude." You thought and moved your pawn. "Maybe a little bit of both." You said and looked him right in the eyes. He raised a brow and knocked down one of your pawns with his knight. "Now, why don't you tell me about yourself." He said, more like ordered, and leaned back in his chair.
"Well.. um... I..." You hesitated. "I was born and raised in London and my family died in the great fire." You said, looking down at the chess board and moved your pawn.
"I'm sorry to hear that." Ciel said and moved his pawn. "It seem like we have something in common Miss. (l/n)." He said and looked at you.
"What do you mean my lord?" You asked confused and looked at the earl.
"I lost my family too... in a fire." He said and his gaze turned a bit sad.
"I am sorry for your loss my lord." You said and knocked down one of his peasants. "It must have been hard on you to lose them at a such early age." You said without thinking.
The earl tightened his grip on his cane. "It was." He said and moved his queen near your king. "Checkmate."
You looked at the chess board with wide eyes. "H-how?"
The earl chuckled. "Never take your eyes off the game, Miss. (l/n)." He said with an amused smirk.

Sebastian walked over to the young lord and handed him a letter. "It's from the queen." He said.
Ciel nodded and stood up. "I'm sorry, but I have some important business to take care of." Ciel said and walked out of the room, but he stopped by the door. "I hope we can play again another time." He said as he glanced back at you and walked away.

You blinked slightly. "Did he invite me to play chess with him again?" You thought confused. Your train of thoughts was interrupted by a small cough.
"My lady, would you care for some tea?" The butler asked, you looked at him and nodded. "Yes please." You smiled and started to placed the pawns in the box. "Miss, you don't have to do that." The butler said.
"I am not a noble, Mr. Michaelis and I don't need to be treated like one." You said a bit harsher then you first intended. "S-sorry, that was not very kind of me." You apologised and stood up.
"It's alrigth my lady, I well know that you are not a noble, but I am bound to give you the Phantomhive hospitality." Sebastian said and bowed. You blushed slightly and looked away ashamed. "You are too kind, Mr. Michaelis." You said quietly.
Sebastian smirked slightly and looked up at you.

"I am simply one hell of a butler."
