Description
The idea came to me because of this line Liara has in the LotSB DLC, if you're romancing Tali, that she had reasons to not add competition on the first Normandy.I just can imagine so well Tali, waiting patiently for the Ash/Liara issue to be concluded, and then come aboard the new Normandy and realize that plenty of women are in the spot.

BioWare Romances... never dull... always an adventure... some more than others. Didn't see Tali becoming romantically interested in Shepard though given her way of explaining it... it actually made sense.
She likes watching you shout at people. She thinks back fondly on the Normandy 1 times. She of anyone from the original team is the most receptive to your 'resurrection' after Garrus.
The others are either dead or suspicious of your working with Cerberus... I wasn't happy to be working with them but they brought me back... and I had a galaxy to save.
Ya can't please everyone when it comes to allegiances.
Still Tali makes for an interesting romance. I mean she goes to significant lengths to be intimate with Shepard. The others don't necessarily have to risk their health for intimacy.

Oddly enough Tali-romance is the only one where Liara has two different things to say in response to Shepard saying, "You could have told me at the time."
The one you mentioned, where Liara was romanced in ME1.

lol, I love Tali, but I've only played as a female commander, so all I really want is Liara. Tali would've been a nice LI, but she's fine being the cute, kill-stealing little sister of the group.
Explanation to the kill stealing:
I don't know why or how it happened, Tali's kill count to mine is like 2 to 1 at first, then it kept increasing every playthrough because of the higher stats and better equipment. At the end, at level 60 with the best weapons and armor, Tali's ratio was 8 to 1. I fight enemy, about to kill enemy, Tali pops up and shotguns them or runs ahead and starts killing like crazy. But in ME2, that has yet to happen, maybe because the level and equipment part of the game was changed, and Tali no longer knows carnage.

Oh yeah I can see what you mean ! I had the same thing with both Tali and Liara. I had almost no time to shoot, every ennemies where already dead ha ha.

Liara is a kill assistant while Tali was the kill stealer for me. Garrus died at every opportunity and Wrex was a close range tank. Ashley was my other tank, but she was a long range one. And Kaiden was useless once I had Liara. But yeah, even on insanity, I couldn't believe what I was seeing half the time. I was like, "You stole my kill! Bad girl!" and she was all like, "Didn't see you name on it!".

I loved that part in LotSB, thought it very much fitted her character since she didn't dare to confront Shepard with her feelings straight away. No worries Tali, my Shep noticed you straight away, even before you became romance-able in ME2.
