this is in latvian..latvian is a wonderful language.. even if you literaly say to a person "fuck yourself till you shit way down the stairs" it still sounds nice.. and not as rude as in english

tāpēc, ka, bitīt matos, cilvēkiem nav pietiekami daudz prāta izdomāt kko latviskāku un smukāk skanošu par tatāru: bļeģ, nahuj utt. nebūtu tatāri ar krieviem sapinušies, nebūtu mūsu bālēliņ' valodiņ' sabojāta.

nu noliegt tataaru iespaidu laikam jau buutu muljkjiigi.. bet tomeer ir ne tikai tas. Graamatas jau ar vairs nelasa, valodinja paliek aizvien plikaaka un plikaaka - un tos tukshumus tad arii aizpilda ar sveshvaardiem un barbarismiem. Lai gan patiesiibaa mums valoda nav ne par kripatu shvakaaka par "bagaato krievu valodu".. tik mees dzeju nelasaam un tos vaardus, kuri patiesiibaa ir, nemaz vairs nezinam lietot

well.. latvian is know as being one of the hardest languages to learn

Many says it's french.....And our local guadeloupe patois called "creole" is not bad at all !!.......
Latvian looks really complicated but not as Mandarin with its 500 signs! ....Maybe more...

sure.. i'm not saying that latvian is the most complicated.. it's just that it separated form proto language a long time ago.. so it has all kinds of old forms of words still in it..
and writing alsow is tricky.. it's kinda made to be simple - you write the way you hear.. but that all turns into a mess when there are all those hundreds of rules about how letters just change without much reason in different configurations of the same word
you can actualy take a look at wiki under "latvian language".. but let's just say that they are teaching latvian for 12 years in school - and every year they have something new to teach about laws of gramar 
as for french.. i used to talk and understand it.. but after school i didn't have a place to keep on learning it or even practice it, so i lost it.. i know that if i had to - i probably could learn it again

Lai gan parasti es tomēr cenšos runājot šādu leksiku labāk nelietot. Citādi kāds vēl sāk man brukt par to virsū.

ir protams cilveeki kas bez bl++ katra teikuma beigaas nespeej izteikties.. bet par vinjiem nav runa.. smagas valodas noziime ir izteikt to kas ar vaardiem "pukjiite", "virtuviite" un "pakausiitis" nav izsakaams..

It is a lovely language! I'm studying Lithuanian, so if I learn that well it should be easier if I want to learn Latvian since the languages are slightly similar.

can i ask.. why would someone on the other side of Atlantic want to learn Lithuanian or Latvian? you have some roots from Baltics?

Why would a Latvian want to learn English? I guess it would be practical, since most Americans are too stubborn to learn other languages... but for me I enjoy learning other languages. I can't remember how I got into Lithuanian... I'm not good with it at all. Its a hobby, and school takes away a lot of my time so I can't study it like I want to.

well.. i think it's just normal if people are learning big languages that help them comunicate with more intresting and boring people
what is a bit wierd to me is if people are learning languages that have like 3-4 milion people talking in it
As for similarity with latvian.. sure, there are some similarities with lithuanian.. but while lithuanians have more history with poland - latvians have more history with germans, russians and what not

Yes, it isn't common at all, but the languages at school bore me. I'm not interested in Spanish or French, but Lithuanian is more fun! The two languages have definitely become very unique. It goes the same for things like English and Spanish. They are similar but also very different.
