Congrats.. BPs are lovely pets! Do yourself and your snake a favor and read this fantastic caresheet on ball pythons.. it'll tell you how to take care of your new snake in the very best way. Most pet stores have no idea what they're talking about.. I bet they sold you a heat lamp and a tank with a screen lid?

Anyway.. here's the link to the caresheet [link]

Thanks!

It's just my style to have no background.. I find them to be distracting to the main focus often times.

Wow that's awesome!!! *huggles snake*

The shading and the detail make it look as if it's about to jump of the page.
One thing you could do is try to belnd the shadows a bit more. Other than that it's perfect.

Cerulean-Serpent In reply to Syreia [2005-01-29 18:00:32 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, the shadows kinda bug me too. Unfortunately, I put fixative on it, so nothing can be changed. That is.. until I get photoshop. I should be able to fix it with that, no?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Syreia In reply to Cerulean-Serpent [2005-01-29 18:06:31 +0000 UTC]

yeah photoshop rocks when it's not being a poo but you could definitely fix it with that.

I'll have to get it on ebay.. because I sure can't afford $650, but I can afford $100. Any idea why the price is so low on ebay? They sell it new in box... but it's nowhere near $600. Hmm..

Syreia In reply to Cerulean-Serpent [2005-01-29 18:15:29 +0000 UTC]

I have no idea. Ebay is wierd that way.
I got my copy from a friend so I had no idea how expensive it was.

Excellent detail! Very realistic, and it actually looks like it's going to slighter away off the screen because of how yo udrew it

LadyVolume [2005-01-23 16:02:53 +0000 UTC]

Oohr. Spectacular. The image looks a bit grainy, but that's probably just the scanner. You pay amazing attention to all the little details that bring something like this to life. Loved all the snake photos in your gallery too. I used to have snakes.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Cerulean-Serpent In reply to LadyVolume [2005-01-23 17:32:38 +0000 UTC]

The graininess would definitely be my crappy old scanner (fixing that problem soon) plus that, I scanned it in bigger than it really is. The drawing is on 6" x 8" paper.

What kind of snakes did you have? As you can tell... I loooove snakes.

LadyVolume In reply to Cerulean-Serpent [2005-01-23 17:55:48 +0000 UTC]

Yes. I had several young water moccassins for a time, a blue racer, several grass and corn snakes, and an odd albino snake I still haven't been able to identify. However, I'm partial to lizards.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Cerulean-Serpent In reply to LadyVolume [2005-01-23 18:01:55 +0000 UTC]

Water moccassins? Wow, I'm not brave enough to keep hots. Plus that it isn't legal here..

What did the albino look like?

I like lizards too. Especially geckos and monitors.

LadyVolume In reply to Cerulean-Serpent [2005-01-23 18:17:48 +0000 UTC]

Well, it was pink and almost see-through with pink-red eyes and a round head. It couldn't have been more than a foot or so. I just wish I had thought to snap a picture. It was highly unusual.

I had some geckos for a while. I really like the Texas spiny tails and bearded dragons. I have chameleons now. When I was younger my father came across an alligator. He decided to keep in the spare bathroom tub. That was quite interesting. He always was eccentric.

I used to have a Jackson's chameleon. Very interesting critters.

Your albino snake had no pattern? It may have been a snow morph (a sort of double albino) here's a pic of a snow cali king [link]

LadyVolume In reply to Cerulean-Serpent [2005-01-23 23:22:25 +0000 UTC]

That looks very similar to the one I had. It was pinker, but pretty much the same. I love the Jackson's chameleons. Favourite lizard of all time. I have to special order here for one which gets pricey, so I haven't really gotten around to it yet.

Cerulean-Serpent In reply to LadyVolume [2005-01-24 04:16:42 +0000 UTC]

I like the Jackson's because they look like a triceratops.. but they don't have the vivid colors like the panther or veil chams do.

here's a couple of really cool cham pics

Those are awesome. Thanks for sharing. I liked the Jackson's for the same reason. Triceratops were always my favourite dinosaur.

I am currently working on another snake.. it's a wip. I have it posted as such in my scraps. When it's done, it should (hopefully) be uniquely beautiful. It'll also be my first color snake..
