XD the bane of every game developer - an "idea guy" with no idea how hard something is to do...

Forget the video game. That lava lamp the naga is gazing at is some pretty cutting edge tech for the time.

What really gets me here is that back in the 70s and 80s, all the console games were written in something like C or assembly. You pretty much had to be a wizard to make anything run on the hardware of the day. Nowadays with OOP, scriptable game engines, and user-friendly dev tools it's a lot easier.

On the other hand though, games at the time were pretty simplistic and the code in them pails in comparison to modern indie games, let alone higher production releases. And that's not even bringing up graphics or sound design.
Basically, it's easier to make a game now than back in the 80's, but it's harder to make it good and up to the standards.

the standarts were pretty low, seeing most of the Atari 2600 library, really... XD
Some managed really impressive games though that are still fun to play. Berserk, Astrowars and Tank come to mind.

Video game developer here (using Clickteam Fusion, admittedly, but that still counts), no. Just no.

And by that I mean that it IS hard, not that it's not that hard(though it might be because I'm just lazy). I probably should've worded this better.

What kind of game are you developping?
I'm curious.

A look into the past eh? Heh, neato~
If you're gonna do some past episodes, it'd be neat to see Lucas and Mortiz's common relative.
You know that grand grandfather/great grandmother? From this comic?
