Well, in fact, katanas are not real swords but (military) knifes/sabers. They were used as such, to cut like you cut some meat. Really effective, and of course needed (and allowed) techniques not possible with other blades (even if rapiers and such could fo it, in fact).
But they still, even the better really easy to break. All weapons good in cuting need hard metal, at least for the edge, making it very fragile. By (for ?) example, old samurai didn't parry with the edge, but only with the back (limiting the effectiveness of the weapons, by the way). City gard had even technique to break katanas in the hand of samurais (better to not kill the lords in a class-driven society).
But well, it's a cat-girl. She already purr, now a katana... Better un-change before she go all "teehee" when a good-looking man look at her.

P.S. I still love your comic. Really good drawing improvements, too.

Use a gun.
Katanas break easily. That's why Musashi used wood ones for some duels. Probably the worst blade weapon in a modern word.

Depends. It does cut very well, and the light weight makes it possible to use it in techniques not possible with other swords.
On the other hand, the steel they use is pretty bad and yep, it can break of easily. Your best bet is a hand-forged claymore made in Europe. Cuts well, is solid, and looks absolutely smashing.

Possible, but wearing a kilt isn't enough to say someone is a Scot.
If the person is wearing a Kilt and wants to kill them some English, then you very well might have a Scot on your hands.

MiB (and by extension ViB) rely on the mass stupidity of the general public and reassuring placards in equal amounts. For a system as efficient as theirs to be in place, who knows what contingency for katana-wielding catgirls they've arranged?
