to be precise the Kitsune of legends is supposed to be a very normal fox, just way older so that it learned many many new tricks, several of them magic.
Now, foxes live about 4-6 years in the wild... How old was she when the transformation occured? in her twenties.
In fox years, she's a well-aged Kitsune.
