This could be a great commercial for Celica's self-defense cookies. Cookies that turn ya into skunk people and have built-in non-lethal self-defense to protect yourself with.

I wonder what other transformations would function as a instant self defence tool like this one? Some like porcupine and hedgehog are obvious but what about others like armadillo.

Yeah, but spikes like that of a porcupine or hedgehog could very problematic. Finding clothes would be hard. You have to careful not to back into people or things. Armadillo is good for natural body armor. Personally for body armor I would,like pangolin as you got tough scaly armor but can curl up into a ball to protect your soft belly.Β
But "aggressive" defense, you got spitting cobra, or turkey vultures' vomiting.

If your willing to go into a more dangerous territory a poison dart frog would work pretty well or if looking for a form that would grant strength and defence Hippo would work pretty well. Another way though a little gross would be that ability some lizards have to detach their tail, or being slimy like an eel.

Poison dart toxicityon work on touch or digestion, so against knives and weapons-useless. Now hippo or rhino totally agree on that if a person ok with the size and weight issue.Β
For lizard autotomy (ability to its tail) and hag fish also known as the slime eel (which is a fish but not a eel), work great for against grappling or physically contacts. Against knifes and weapon not so much.Β
But you make think horny toads, they not only spines but can shoot noxious blood out of thier eye. Very gross especially if it get in the mouth.Β

True but would a person really want to get into melee range with someone who can severely poison you if they make any form of skin contact?Β
As for the lizard autotomy I was thinking it more in just the shocking sense along with the the ability to escape when grabbed, most people would be more than a little distracted to see someone rip one of their limbs off.

Only the tail not the limbs for lizards. If you wanted shock, the horny toad squirting blood is very effective.

Of course, as a poison frog you'll have to convince your aggressors to lick you.
In the city where I studied back then this would not have been as unlikely as you might think.
