Hypnosis only really works if the hypnotized is accepting and willing of it. A disbelief in hypnosis is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Some people actually try using it for transformation purposes, but few report success and it is impossible to tell totally whether or not they lie because it ranges only within their own perception.

It's been debated for a long time if hypnosis should be considered as a science, as some medical uses were tried, with some success actually.

i don't call it a science probably because i don't believe in hypnoses.
it's all just suggestibility and anyone who is good at suggestibility can get people to do stuff without them knowing.
