Description
Took a bit longer than expected to do because:1) I redid all the lines in Photoshop since there were some anatomy issues I didn't notice when I first drew it (I was able to take care of most of them, but not all).
2) It was hard to choose between this style or just doing a cel-shade style picture, so I was kinda floating between the two for a little while until I finally made up my mind.
3) Color corrections took a little while since I needed to do something to tone it down. In the original version, I felt like my retinas were going to burn out if I stared too long.
============
Time taken: 3-5 hours (drawing), 6-8 hours (coloring)
Mediums used: Pencil and paper, Photoshop CS

the lineart looks fabulous, and i'm trying to improve, so i have to ask: how did you do the lineart in photoshop? were able to get it that clean freehand or did you use something like the pen tool?
cool pic!

Thanks. Like with most of the pictures I CG, I free-hand the line work with the brush tool. It's a little more difficult than using the pen tool and sometimes requires several tries before I can get the right lines, but it's the method I prefer. I could use the pen tool, but I'm not skilled enough at it to keep the lines from looking really bland. If you want something much simpler to work with, I highly recommend using the Pen tool. As a note, the Pen tool in Adobe Illustrator is much easier to use than Photoshop's, so if you have Illustrator I highly recommend using it for your line work if you choose to work with the Pen tool.

I think the front arm might be somewhat too long in comparison to the rest of the body, but the lighting effects are pretty cool.

Another nice one Ceta. It seems a bit strange with the fore-shortening... but it really isn't... where are my glasses?
But yeah, I love it.
