I decided to redraw the very first art I ever drew of Vito and also my very first art of an OC which I posted online. It was an entry for TsaoShin's album yourself (or your OC) challenge.

It was supposed to be very psychological. For the redraw, I was wondering how I could show Vito's emotional struggles in a stronger way. I wanted to visualize how his situation in its entirety weights down on his mind. That he was sold into slavery, That he is forced to be a servant and apprentice of a black mage. That his teacher his gaslighting him that supposedly the whole world is against him as he has no rights as a slave and that supposedly the only save option is staying and also doing things which are not aligning with his moral compass. That -unknown to him- the black magic is affecting his mind and slowly but surely is eating up more and more of his empathy and in the end will turn him as cold-hearted as his teacher if he continues this path.
