'You are nothing like me... you are but a puppet with broken strings... and soon to be discarded like one too.'While I was making my last image this idea popped in my head.
Am I the only one who thinks its odd that people call Hoody and Masky Proxies? (Yes, I have been watching Mabel Hornets. If you got a lot of time. Like 5 hours then check it out) I always considered Kate to be at the final stage of possession, the point of no return while the other two wake up like it was a Saturday night of drinking before, haha *cough*Β
Even so, there are mass theories if Masky is the good guy. Or just someone trying to play mind games.

Also, Hoody and Masky are NOT proxies. Troy and Joseph confirmed that (I can't remember when, but I know that they did). Also, after watching Night Mind's analysis of MH, I firmly believe that they are against Alex and the Operator as a whole (Entry #76 REALLY proves that, what with Hoody going straight for Alex and blowing past Jessica, and Hoody wouldn't be stealing Tim's medicine if he wanted to be near the Operator).

Then why was Tim(as Masky) making the camera all backcordy and staticity, very similar to what the Operator does in entry 19?

Tim's been exposed to the Operator longer, so there's more of a chance that he can fall under TO's possession, which happened in Entry #19. Honestly, Masky and Hoody's motives aren't really clear cut as everyone believes, but I still believe that Hoody and Masky are firmly against the Operator, which seems highly misconstrued in the fandom.

That seems likely. I've read that Tim was stalked by the Operator as a child, and from what I've read, I believe that the Operator was trying to break Tim and control him and Tim was unaware of it, but over time, he becomes aware of it and tries to resist control from him and fights him. [My opinion is that Tim and Brian ("Masky" and "Hoodie") are /not/ Slender's proxies. If anything they'd be Operator's, as Slender and Operator I believe are two separate entities, much like how Trender is not Slender, though they look alike. I think they are a species. But that is beside the point. People seem to believe anything creepy is a creepypasta, but that is not at all the case. The owners of the characters (Troy Wagner, Joseph DeLage, Tim Sutton) were asked if they knew that Mask and Hood were considered pastas, and they answered that they don't even know what Creepypasta is. If it isn't submitted to creepypasta.com and accepted, it is not a pasta. Pastas are story submissions, not video, though you can add it in for dramatic effect. So yes, I do think it's odd that people consider them proxies.] Β

And I'm glad that I'm not the only one a tad confused about Hoody and Masky'sΒ allegiance. I knew about them before watching Marble Hornets. Once I did, not only were they 10x scarier to me (XD), but I was also a bit confused. They're always depicted as Slenderman's most loyal proxies, but when you watch the series, they don't really act like it. I mean, come on, they run away from him, even when they're in their disguises. It doesn't really add up. All that aside, it doesn't make them any less enjoyable as characters XD

If Masky and Hoodie aren't proxies, then what are they?
Because that's all I've heard about them.

It's a big misconception. The word 'Proxy' was in fact created by a Slender game known as Slender: The Arrival. Proxies on that game are far different from Hoody and Masky. If you know MarbleHornets then you know they are the creators of Masky and Hoody, and hate people calling them Proxies. Unfortunately the fans have fueled it so much they are dubbed Proxy.
So what's the difference? Β
Masky and Hoody are not. They are but mere confused puppets pushed to their limits by the Slenderman. But they still contain their human features and wake completely confused. Insanity.
A Proxy however is completely different. These once people have been taken and completely manipulated by Slenderman. They even possess the abilities such as teleporting and camera glitching. Proxies no longer have their typical human vocals, as they now screech and hiss. They don't seem to think much either as they attack on sight like rabid dogs. The two TRUE Proxies I know of are Charlie who has been forcefully serving Slender for years since he was only a child, and Kate who is the latest one.

But wait, I read a thing that said the term "Proxy" came from.. some other Slender Series because they dubbed a human under the influence of Slenderman "Unknown Proxy"
...Or something like that.
I have no idea if this is true or not, but as far as I can tell, this came before The Arrival.
I haven't seen the series either, so this is a huge leap, but the "Proxy" was capable of speech and other such things that a human/puppet would have.
I read it on a wiki though, sooo..
What do you have to say about this?
