I uploaded this earlier but when I went to view it I got an error
uploading again.. (man I have bad luck with this stuff lol)Well this is my first ever Photoshop CG. I am so sick of this pic I will probably puke if I ever look at it again
It started off in oC where I sketched it and did the line work, started coloring etc... then I decided the lines were too sloppy etc so I redid them.. didn't like the original hair so I erased it and started again.. etc. etc. etc. Anyway, eventually I ended up taking the original sketch +colored skin into photoshop and redoing the lines and coloring everything else in there.. it was a pain in the arse and I'm still not happy with how the st00pid chair turned out
Whew.. I am glad this is done
Sorry about the chair and cruddy background but I was so sick of it I just slapped it in there. I will eventually fix the BG and re-color the chair. I do see some sloppiness I want to clean up but it probably won't happen for a while because frankly, I never want to see this pic again lol This was the first time I ever used photoshop to do something like this. I mean, I've used it for web graphics and that but coloring anime in ps is a whole different can of worms lol.. for my first photoshop cg I'm semi-happy with it. I think I'll be using photoshop form now on.. forget about oC (atleast for the time being) hehe

Great work. Dress realy is beatiful and so is everything else on the character. The Background could mayby have some more stuff on it though. Mayby some clouds or something... or I don't know, it looks pretty good already.

Oh wow, this one HAS to be one of your best work. ^_^;; (Well..duh, is a feature). xD Anyways, the thing that really attracts me IS THE DRESS AND THE EYES!! O_O;; Gah, for your first Photoshop, this is AMAZING. O_O;; I don't have one slight idea how to use ANY kind of drawing program. -_-;;
The pose is really nice and the proportions too.
But I must save a whole paragraph to comment about the dress. *eyes pop* xD It's just so realistic and so well shaded. It almost look like you just ripped a dress from real life and clothed it on this girl. xD
About the bg: *shruggs* Maybe it could have been better if you worked more in, but oh well, we all have our lazy moments when it comes to bg. xD Only one out of all my uploaded pictures have bgs...lazy me. -_-;; But at least the blueness adds a touch that she;s floating.

The girl was beautifully done, I must say I have not seen this level of detail from many artists. The dress looks real enough to touch (although if I tried, I'd probably be branded a pervert...Alas, it is my fate to die alone!

Sex is waaay too overrated. And to me, the prospect of sex is the single most evident underlying force that augments the formation of such bad habits as obsession with appearance (including becoming skinny and getting large boobs for girls, or being muscular for guys) and marriage before true commitment.
I don't think I'll attract anyone enough to get a "special someone", but I'm happy with my friends. I love the hell out of all of 'em. Although, it would help to not be wishing I was with every manga/anime female out there... >.<

You are right about the whole body image thing though. But it's inevitable. People are so strange, you finally find a person who you feel comfortable with and who actually likes/loves you for you and it still doesn't make any difference, you still end up wanting to change yourself to please them or to make your self more attractive to them despite the fact that they already think you are a god/goddess

I saw the tut but couldn't get it to come up. Then i decided to have a look at this to see what the tut was about. I love this and ---- WOW! I want to be able to do something like it. We all do LOL. I am going to try to get the tut up again.

Yes, I'm sure many people already said that, but I'll say it again... I really like the eyes, and the dreass obviously... And I like how you do the shading for skin. But I really like the composition here... I sometimes feel like doing elaborate eyes too, but my pictures tend to be composed such that the face is relatively small, so it's hard to see the eyes well... But here you have the entire figure, and all the details are very clear, I really like that

yeah you just start off and shade the dress like you normally would if it didn't have a pattern. Then yo go and draw or find soemthign that could be used as a pattern. Shrink it waaay down and paste it on as a new layer so that it covers the whole dress in some sort of a cohesive pattern. Merge down all the pattern layers and mess around with the layer type. The ones I found that are good for this type of thing are jsut mul and sub. Thanks BWT

holy friggin you are such a perfectionist! you'll be happy to know then, that I think this pic paid off. it is reallly i mean reallllly good. nice coloring. i suck at coloring. only critique is that her chin is a little slanted to the right. that's all. keep up the great wrk

Well, I have no idea why you dislike it. It looks good.
The only thing that I've noticed that with the mouth, she seems like's she going to cry any second (IMHO) Furthermore, the pattern on her dress could use a bit more shading

The major thing that jumps out at me with this one is depth inconsistancy. The body and arms, legs, chair... look very much 3-d. Her head, face, hair, and socks/feet look 2-D. Both are nicely done, but try and go one way or the other. Maybe make the nose a lil higher?
Besides that it really looks good.
I can see improvement already in your gallery.
Your strengths are shading...both black and white and color. Also, you do well with fine detail and like work.
Some things to work on are depth consistancy (this one for example) and hair (guttless is probably you're best) try and make the hair a little more imperfect... this is probably what needs the most work in many of your deviations
Overall though you've got a lot of talent...Looking forward to seeing more of it

No really I love the fabric thing ( I think I'll give it a shot sometime) And as for the first in adobe thing I think you got me beat I just finished my first to and it pales in comparison.. I think the only thing that seems off is the chair, every thing else being so detailed the chair throws me off a bit it's alittle to under shaded like where her dress drops.. oherwise pure perfection!
