Exercise 38 (E38) – Applying Studies
EXERCISE: To apply the acquired knowledge you gained from doing master studies

This is our first combo exercise on Concept Cookie. This follows Exercise 37 where you are challenged to draw two master studies. You are meant to analyze these studies and learn from them. It may be on values, understanding color on a deeper level, using contrasts, whatever it may be. NOW This exercise is where you are meant to take that knowledge and create something original based on what you learned. This is because most artists can look at a master study and re-create it to some level of success. This is NOT why we do master studies. We do them to extend our knowledge, not showcase where our skill level is at currently and essentially become a photo-copy machine.
