Tarkit was born to Deep-pool and Nightstalker, both well respected warriors of Hailclan. Tarkit brother Mudkit was born stillborn and Deep-pool grieved heavily for the loss of her son. Nightstalker had to take care of Tarkit as Deep-pool was too stricken with grief to properly care for her. Tarkit grew up very close with her father, the two of them spending time together in camp. One night Deep-pool explains that she's going to go hunting to clear her mind, Nightstalker stays with Tarkit until she comes back, but she never does. The clan searched for her but there were no signs of the queen and she never returned to camp. Tarkit felt guilty for her mother's disappearance, believing that maybe if she had done something different then Mudkit wouldn't have been born a stillborn and her mother would have been happy and wouldn't have gone hunting so late at night. Nightstalker tried his best to raise his daughter by himself, electing to stay and sleep with her in the nursery instead of in the warriors den until she became an apprentice. Tarkit had always had a bit of a sneezing problem. It was nothing serious but it eventually resulted in Nightstalker lovingly giving her the name Sneezekit. It was a joke but it always got Tarkit to laugh.

apprenticeship [ 6 - 12 moons ] >
Tarpaw was excited to finally become an apprentice. She was assigned Frostwalker as her mentor. He was... an interesting mentor. Stern and unapologetic, Frostwalker was a hard mentor to follow. He had very strict way of teaching Tarpaw and she struggled to keep up with his lessons sometimes. The two would argue and bicker over who was right or wrong on certain subjects, neither holding common ground. They argued constantly and would even occasionally trade insults. Tarpaw wanted desperately to have a change in mentor but Nightstalker reminded her that she wouldn't get along with every cat she meets and despite their differences, Frostwalker was still her mentor and she needed to treat him with respect. Tarpaw reluctantly agreed with her father's wishes and started treating her mentor with a little more respect. Although the two didn't exactly get along, training became easier and Tarpaw eventually learned that stubbornness gets you nowhere and its best to hold your mouth shut than start pointless arguments just for the sake of doing so.

Tarfeather was eleated when she finally received her warrior name. Although her relationship with her mentor was still sour, she thanked him for the training and promised to do right b his name. They avoid each other for the most part, rarely interacting unless necessary.
