Loyal
Ringo is extremely loyal to his Man. He would go any distance possible to make them happy, and is quite a sucker for anything that involves making them smile or laugh. Ringo gets defensive if someone talks bad about his Man, but he's aggressive. Ringo and his Man often go "chasing" (hunting) for waterfowl, which is Ringo's all time favorite thing. His Man downs them, he retrieves.
Intelligent
Ringo is an exceptionally fast learner. At 9 weeks he knew how to go to his bed, sit, come, and potty outside (Most of the time). Once his Man noticed his potential, he began to train him to "wait" and "retrieve" and "bring". It was like getting rewarded to fetch. At the beginning of his "chase-training" Ringo would use his new skill for personal gain, bringing his Man anything in the house for praise and a salmon chew. Turns out thats not how it works.
Competitive
Ringo isn't the jealous sort, however he can get very competitive especially when it involves praise or a salmon chew. He's been known to over exert himself for the sake of winning to please the Man. Course he knows it isn't smart, but he wants those darn salmon chews and a pat on the head. He's a good boy after all, he should make sure everyone knows it!
Pre-Group History:
Ringo and his litter mates were an accident. Their dad, Maple Walker (Walker for short) was an out of town Purebred Vizsla dog who escaped a dog show, and their mother, Shiela was a loyal outdoor pet. Though Ringo's mother didn't have a fenced yard, she always stayed close to home. When Ringo's father came trotting down the street with a shiny collar and no human following, a smile on his face and a skip in his step, Shiela couldn't help but want a piece of that stud. One thing led to another, and a one time fling led to a litter of 3 puppies with no father and a confused mother. Sheilas Man wasn't unhappy with her, but he couldn't keep Ringo and his litter mates. One day, Ringo and his siblings found themselves in the Pound. Frightened, cold, and without mother, the three pups howled for days, refusing the comfort of the Man at the pound. They didn't eat, they didn't sleep, just laid together in a pile and whimpered. Why had the Man put them here? Why didn't Mamma want them anymore? What was going to happen to them?
When their lives seemed to be over, an eternal future of a concrete cell with a rough dirty blanket and gross dry kibbles, different Man began to come into their cage every day. They played with them, held them, cooed to them. Gave them treats and encouraged them. Called them good dogs.
It was torture. They would always come, act as though they loved them, and then leave.
Until one day, Ringo and his siblings saw each other for the last time. a man came into their kennel, played with them, and then picked Ringo up and took him from his kennel. It all happened so quickly, there were other mMan behind a half wall, there was paper and writing sticks and bright lights and then suddenly Ringo was in a moving wheel box that made loud noises. The next moment he was in a new kennel. It was cool and comfortable, there was a fluff bed and his own bowl and cool crisp drinking water.
No other puppies. But there was the Man. He pet him every day, called him good boy, taught him things.
Ringo learned quickly that this Man was his best friend. He saved him. and he would show his gratitude till his time on earth was done
