To put it most simply, Connie is a high-strung drama queen who, with a bit of persistence, can also show themself to be a fiercely loyal and caring soul. Everything they do, from the way they move and speak, to how they perform their Moves, is done with an intentional flair about it, hoping to catch the eyes of onlookers and have them wanting more-- though unfortunately, what lies beneath their flashy exterior is a gijinka who cares far too much about advancing themself, and material posessions. Their obsession with saving face, social standing, and worldly posessions can get out of hand sometimes, and the fact that they've gone from so much to so little can occasionally even lead them to have small meltdowns.
In regards to others, Connie is very outgoing, and has no difficulty speaking to strangers. They are fiercely loyal to the few friends that manage to tolerate them, and are very caring in terms of remembering small details of conversations, and dates like birthdays and the like.

History:
  Many years ago, a wealthy girl of some 7 years old named Cosette was given her first pet pokemon-- a purebred Swablu with an esteemed contest pedigree, whom she named "Cotton". Cotton started out as Cosette's companion pokemon, and the two were the best of friends as he essentially watched her grow up into a young teen-- at which point she took up Pokemon Contests as an elective/sport at her prep school. His moveset-- combined with her ability to buy whichever TM/HMs she desired with her parents' money-- made the adorable duo nearly unstoppable in the Cute contest arena for the next several years.

  When Cosette moved from Hoenn to Kalos to attend a prestigious fashion school in Lumiose City, of course she brought Cotton along. As she grew busier with university and an interning job, though, she had less and less time to care for little Cotton. Knowing how mean it was to leave a pokemon cooped up in an apartment all day, she began leaving the balcony door open in case he wanted to stretch his wings while she was gone, and Cotton began to fly out of the apartment altogether and explore Lumiose city.

  One day, one person in particular noticed Cotton's cuteness and bent over to get a better look at the swablu-- so Cotton decided to use Attract at the spectator in Poke Contest fashion in hopes of scoring a snack. Leading Cotton into an alley nearby, they broke of a piece of a galette and dropped it at the tips of his claws; he gladly ate it. Then, the person-- pokehuman, rather-- dropped something far more intriguing-- a dittech-- in front of Cotton; he simply blinked down at it at first, but after some difficulty, and a lot of pecking, something was activated, and he was transformed into a pokehuman.

  Come to find out, that 'human' was actually a pokemon, too, a member of a gang called 'Frou' that wanted to recruit Cotton because she liked their style. It wouldn't hurt to try joining, right? After all, Cosette was so busy, she often even forgot to feed him. This pokehuman promised him fraternity, endless opportunity, and... the opportunity to wear human fashion. He simply couldn't say no.

  But he couldn't simply call himself "Cotton" and walk around the way he was, absentmindedly chirping with delight when he was pleased. Under the wing of the Frous, he rebranded himself as "Connie", discovered his gender identity as nonbinary (which thankfully worked out well with the function of his dittech-- subsequently adopting they/them pronouns), and began to get the hang of human mannerisms. Though they were mostly on the sidelines of the shadow pokemon occurances, due to their ineptitude at fighting, they were excited to hear of the formation of Amie Isle, quickly landing a job as a courier, and packing their few possessions to leave.

  After one last fly-by trip pasy Cosette's apartment balcony in pokemon form (as they had made routine since leaving her side), they found her asleep inside-- with a little, fluffy blue capelet on her fashion design mannequin. It reminded Connie a lot of themself-- as it seemed to be a Swablu-inspired design-- and when they found the word "Cotton" embroidered on the tag, it simply was meant to be! any they... well, they stole it. Dragged it right out the window, wearing it every day as the last reminder they took with them of their dearest trainer. (Come to find out, the tag actually says "Cosette", and Connie is just terrible at reading, but regardless, it holds great sentimental value.)

so I've tried joining this group... I think three times in the past, and been outright rejected each time.. but that was years ago, so I'm hoping I've improved on my character-building skills since then?? Fourth time's a charm, eh? (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧
I'm recycling this character, but I think I was able to make them fit into the group alright (even though I can't draw pokemon to save my life ufufu)
