Charmaine grew up in a poor family and lived with her mum and her younger brother and sister (younger siblings are twins). Her mum didn't make a lot of money so Charmaine had a part time job at the café to help pay for things.
She would often play card games with the customers in the café and soon realised she had the knack at playing them. Eventually the card games she would play for fun, became games where she would gamble for money, putting all her earnings she had saved in.
