Two characters that are more 'Fun and Comedy' than 'Drama and Tragedy'. Don't get me wrong, Spiderman's Uncle Ben and Venom arcs a great, and Wolverine will always deliver with a side of fury. But there's something about these two with the meta-awareness and giving the 4th wall a nice polish time and again.

Though Jenn could always slap Deadpool with a restraining order since brute force would more than likely encourage him.

As I mentioned in a posting on another page, if I had my way Marvel's next mini-series or animated DVD would star She-Hulk, Deadpool and Spider-Man. It would be, hands down, the funniest thing they ever made if it was done right!

Agreed. If Marvel can be said to do anything right, it's that they really pay attention to their market research! For some reason - maybe because I like witty characters - it doesn't bother me as much with Spidey as with the other overexposed fanboy fave Wolverine.

I don't mind Spidey but him and Wolverine being used to lure in brainless fanboys who would buy anything with a cover including Wolverine/Spidey... Of course, Marvel don't exactly really try and push anyone to similar status but then, my interest in comics is pretty tangential these days but I rather think after the dicey 90s, Marvel is hardwired to play it safe and the more interesting/original concepts are seldom pushed as much as some idiotic concepts... like the stupid werewolf commandos title, or whatever it was.
