Description
Playing a bit with the morning light as Margaret Montoya and CIA agent Clarence Otto meet Amos Braun at the hospital in Toledo. Minor deviation from the original story, Amos meeting them outside to begin the back and forth a bit sooner, giving us a better location establishment over another talking head page in the lab.Coloring was pretty simple, never more than about six layers. I've refined my process considerably since then, usually only three or four. Much faster with little or no compromise in quality, so I suppose I'm getting better(and faster).

Coloring in this page feels like those oldschool comic books, which I was reading as a kid... those which I got from my father and he was reading them as a kid. Which is good to me, because I really hate that Marvel looking colours. I love the flat old looking pages, where I can read the craft of both colorist and penciler/inker. To me linework is more important than colours, I love black and white comic books. But when colours are done in the way that they actually support linework to create one complete feel... than its a great work I have to say. And you have done this really well. Just the first panel, the skintone of the afroamerican guy... I think its too yellowish, should be more into the brown, shouldnt it? At least thats my feel about the colour. But this is a great work so far I have to say

Would you believe that every floor, wall, door, sidewalk and metal elevator door is textured?
I'm a big fan of the old school stuff, too, but it was style borne from press limitations of the day that created that look. I'm trying to sort of ape that look, but with a more modern approach, textured backgrounds and nice flat characters on top of fairly clean, open line work. This page was a little later, and very successful, I thought. But still, I'm not quite where I want to be with my coloring, so nailing down a line work style to compliment it is tricky. Book one of INFECTED won't be as good as book five, which is absolutely killing me at the moment!
Getting there, though...

Very nice storytelling here. The colors are pretty nice too, but the pacing and the visual narrative are excelent. Congrats!
