No those where Nukekubi but even the Japanese get confused on this one. Nukekubi are monsters that detach their heads at night fly around and prey on people like vampires, however they must rejoin their body by sunrise or die.
Rokurokubi are creatures that stretch their necks out at night and like to spy on people or change their face to look like an oni and scare them silly, more mischievous tricksters than monsters.
