Description
I wonder what would happen if I tried to categorize this under Transportation. It's not false!Yesterday evening my mom, brother (~Ockham5 ) and I went to see the Royal Lipizzaners performing in my hometown. The light conditions were... interesting. Directly into an evening sun. Very flattering for the horses. So I'm happy with how this boy's mane is lit up (I spent most of the show trying to capture that well).
This was a very cool pawing motion. He'd rear back - I believe the 45-degree angle makes it a "levade" in dressage - and swat at the air surprisingly quickly. I loved learning the [possible] history of the moves they knew. They may have been used in the military, at least in training if not on the battlefield.
The framing could be better; I was focusing on the horse as the subject, not the human, but the crop changes that a little and I tried to work with it - because I had to crop out a very distracting bit of house on the right side. Cropping seems to have been my bane of late.

Most likely yes. What is the graphic for? And do I get to see the final product?

Then I'm all right with it as long as you won't be making money from it. Be sure to link me when it's done; I'd like to see how it turns out!

I like the idea of this picture, but I feel like if you had just waited to capture a horse when it was behind the person (the person's back was to you), it wouldn't have mattered where you cropped it. I don't know if they were moving in a circle, but if the person was facing away from you, it would have helped create a good line in the picture for the viewer's eye to follow to the subject (AKA you can't always depend on the rule of thirds to create focus). Also, a higher shutter speed; the hoof moving is distracting.
But those are easily remedied mistakes for next time. I still like the shot.
