Okay this is what you've all been waiting for!
"OMG Katrina finally went trough with one of her cosplay ideas!!!"
Yea, yea... I think I'm actually going through with this cause LoZ has been a part of my life since I could remember. Even when I was little and couldn't play it I'd watch my brothers with intense fascination. Then when older played some games and got mad cause they were too hard Then I learned about Walkthroughs! Hahaha just kidding! Fooled ya though! Nah I only resort to those when I'm in a really tough situation...
Alright back to the cosplay!
My costume information!
I wanted to put a feminine twist on Link's uniform. Other girls have done it but I either find they are too plain, too girly it's insulting, or too masculine. So I hope mine is somewhere in between. I didn't want to deal with chainmail so I put lace instead. (feminine) Then I wanted to have the lacing on the sleeves and that turned out awesome for all the hard work put into it! Seriously...hammering eyelets into soft fabric is not fun! I seriously looked like this while doing it ---->
Eh but it came out nice! Although I'll be doing it again when I make my hat
The tights are not white/tan...yes I know, I didn't have white/tan and I didn't wanna buy new ones so I decided the grey would represent the missing chainmail and the lace where the chainmail should be will represent the color of the tights. So people it doesn't matter where the color is at just as long as it's there!! The boots will be the same color as the belts and be going over another pair of boots I own. The belts are just from my belt collection, I'm sorry I can't tell you where I got them
My gloves are actually not made by me...they are orthopedic sewing gloves $14.99 at your local fabric store. Although I did alter them a tad....
Okay...that's all I have to say, it's a work in progress and might be completed by the end of summer.

Well the gloves are orthopedic gloves to help blood flow while your sewing. Therefore they are gonna be tight

I really like how you used lace on this. It really gives off the effect of being like chainmail or a substitute for the undershirt and leggings. Great job :3

I was hesitent at first with the lace and leggings cause I'm usually really on the mark when it comes to cosplay. Although, I like the way it came out and I'm glad you do too!!

Oh, I can understand. I can be such a perfectionist when it comes to detail.. but I also find myself adding little touches to cosplay to make it more "mine" that may be seen as inaccurate by others..but I figure why not? Why not make it suit me a bit more and have more fun. It's not like I enter contests anyway, so it's all good. :3
Besides...when it comes to Link/Zelda cosplays, it's been done, and done, and done, and so well too by so many people... so at this point, it's more fun seeing people come up with new ideas or alterations or their own designs. :3

Exactly! I didn't wanna make an exact, I wanted it to resemble me. I do also love when others add personal touches. I think I may stitch the Tri-Force on my glove. Sometimes inaccurate makes it better.

ive never liked it cause link was my childhood hero. i mean its cool how people cosplay an stuff but i never liked it for a biased reason >_> i just liked my hero as guy more than i did a girl... trying my best to not come across as being sexist ._. your cosplay is awesome though, i love the ttention to detail. you mustve closely studied the design. i cant wait to see it finished ^u^

I too didn't like girls as Link for a loooonnngg time I found it was wrong. But then when I found myself wanting to do a LoZ cosplay I realized I didn't wanna be the princess, I wanna be the hero. So I'm trying not to mock Link by being a female in his exact uniform I wanna be genderbent Link. I too would like to keep Link in the game a male though.

Nah Link is a hot hunk of hero and he is as masculine a heck! Although I did start to question his sexual orientation when I collected flame hoop earrings in Skyward Sword....

LOTS of diff.
Photo 1~ Link looks badass dramtic, has tons of details. Tons of little ittybitty details that extenuates the masculinity and has tons of layers and boxy clothing like males wear.
Photo 2~ Link has no small details, it looks kinda like Saria, also if you notice there's BOOBS
My costume is a feminine style cause instead of lace I have chainmail, instead of pants I have tights, I am making the costume extenuate the female body and female style of dressing.
