Whoever it was knocking on that door, Pate already hated him...or her. Of all the times they decided to bother him, it had to be the time when they were so busy looking for Cromwell! What impeccable timing!

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

"WHAT?! CAN'T YOU SEE THE SHOP SIGN SAYS CLOSED?" Pate angrily opened the shop door.

"Hey, dad. What a lovely greeting. Yeah, I saw the sign, but this is kinda my house too...and I can't seem to find the hidden key and-" a young Pichu greeted the angry Minun.

"...Cromwell...?" Pate couldn't believe it. It really was his son...no other Pichu could ramble on like that. He blinked rapidly in shock.

"Yep, dad, it's me! You wouldn't guess what ha-" Cromwell was cut off by Pate's abrupt hug. Although Pate could see his son in front of him, feeling his child wrapped around his arms made this surreal event feel so real.

"I'm glad for your hugs, dad, I really am, but we're kinda in public. Shishou's watching. It's embarrassing."

"Shishou...?" looking up from his hugging, Pate noticed an Audino standing a few feet away. "YOU! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"

"...?!" the Audino was surprised at the violent reaction. His red eyes widened, and his feelers stood on end.

"You kidnap my son and have the arrogance to come back here?!" sparks were coming out of his cheeks in anger. How dare this bastard show his face!

"...uh, dad, what are you talking about?! Shishou didn't kidnap me! We were sent to the past by a freak accident. This lady Jasmine, who can travel through time, by the way, got injured and sent a whole bunch of other mons to the past. If it wasn't for Shishou, I would be Shaymin meat!"

"...what?" Pate lost it at the time travelling part. "What did you say? Could you repeat that?" Cromwell's fast paced speaking didn't help matters.

"Why don't we get inside and talk more? I wanna hug mom. Don't worry, Shishou's a really really good guy!"

Pate was hesitant to allow such a criminal into his roof. When Cromwell first disappeared, they immediately contacted Bubble to access their information network on the strange Audino that disappeared along with their son. It was a bit hard to gather information, since this Audino's name, Ri, was pretty vague. They were only able to narrow down the search because of Ri's large scar and red eyes. And the results were very surprising. Wanted for arson, theft, property destruction in most major towns of Tao Continent...this Audino was anything BUT good based on the reports their organization have gathered. Who knows what heinous crimes this bastard did to his son...

"No, really dad, Shishou's really nice. He acts all tough but he's actually a big softie inside. Besides, if you're worried, you can mom can gang up on him." Cromwell said with a dismissive wave of his hand. He really couldn't see why his dad was going crazy. He knew his parents did a lot of illegal things back then before they married and had him. So why should they go crazy about what Shishou told him he did before? It wasn't really all that different.

"Hey!" Ri kept quite all this time but he couldn't help but interject. His existence shouldn't just be waved off! Unfortunately for him, Cromwell already went inside. This left the two adults outside, surrounded by an awkward silence.

"...just go in. But I'm watching you."

"...so that's what happened!"

The whole room was silent.

When Pate was taking too long outside, Mina and Bubble decided to go out and see what was going on. She was greeted by the sight of her son entering through the shop doors. She did what any mother would do after seeing her missing son again. She hugged him until he was turning blue. Bubble was able to save the young Pichu's life by reminding the ecstatic mother about her son's need to breathe. More hugs and greetings came after that.

The happy atmosphere was broken by the entrance of the Audino. He was a proven criminal and the number one suspect of Cromwell's kidnapping. Mina was ready to Thunderbolt the Audino to kingdom come. But Cromwell was quick to come into the stranger's defense. This led to tales of time travel and fantastical creatures that left the occupants of the room in this state.

"What...an adventure..." mumbled Mina. She couldn't believe what she just heard.

"Is it really that hard to believe, Mina?" Bubble turned to her sister. "I mean, sure, logically speaking, no one has ever produced that type of energy but-"

"Yes, that's the thing! You can't just be accepting all of this without proof!"

The next few moments were involved with lots of theoretical discussion that confused Ri to no end. And he thought that Cromwell had it bad for theories. Apparently, it was a family thing.

After lots of debating and sparks flying, literally, the small family had come to a conclusion.

"We apologize for our harsh treatment of you, Mr. Ri. I hope you understand." Mina bowed down.

"...it's nothin'. I was doin' what was right."

"So, to celebrate, why not have dinner here?"

"No, I wouldn't want to impose..."

"Nonsense! Pate's cooking is wonderful!"

The rest of the night was spent eating and just bonding. Ri was a bit sad that this would be the last time he'll see the kid. He was starting to grow fond of Cromwell too...

Ahhh! So super sorry for the crap quality of the drawing! >.< Time really just flew by so fast! I wanted to jump straight to doing the tasks, but then it might be invalid if I didn't show the team getting back to the present. Soooooo...yeah. And if you guys noticed, the ending was rushed, well, yes it is. I will fix that. When I have more time.
