Description Pekopon: Warehouse Base

In the warehouse, Suhaha finished telling his tale of his encounter with Vekuku- a tale that involved him taking a pyrrhic victory before he admits, “I still think of Vekuku as a friend after all this time. But what about this change is truly what stumped me…”

“So even you can’t figure it out?” Sododo commented.

“To be honest, I never known the guy and I can say he used to be so nice…” Omimi admitted. “You mean to say something’s up?”

“Right.” The Major nodded. “And until we can figure out this mystery, I’m afraid that killing Vekuku is something to avoid completely.”

“Well…I can respect your decision.” Washishi admitted. “From what you told us about him, I doubt he would be the kind to go nuts.”

Katsutsu soon shook his head reluctantly and say, “But he harmed so many people though…why would you try to defend him? Are you saying that it’s not him?”

“I’m not saying that it’s not him- I’m saying that there’s something wrong with him and I need to figure out what he did.” Suhaha admitted. “Besides, I still can’t take a life of a friend or family and especially one of the energy clan. The consequences would be catastrophic- to more than just me. That’s why I have to leave it to the legal system. I hope you all understand.” Omimi nodded as well- Katsutsu gave a reluctant nod as well.
However, there was someone who still didn’t agree with him…

Omnini looked angered. “You mean to say that you wouldn’t find it in your own heart to kill your own friend?! After he had done, you still couldn’t kill him?”

“Omnini, to kill is to also to dirty your own hands. As a soldier we are forced to take orders as well- including eliminating enemies.” Suhaha said. “I had taken the lives of many an enemy, but I would never think a taking a life of a friend or of family- especially one of energy wielding status. But we must follow our tradition as energy wielders- we must defeat Vekuku, but not take his life but rather take his energy. It is in our abilities as energy users to preserve one another, and know when to cut thread of life from our companions when their time has come- however it is never by own hands but the hands of another- which was why I asked Sododo to do so in the first place. However…should I had known about Vekuku regaining his energy through awakening and absorbing Omimi’s, then I would’ve cancelled that order. He became a tenacious individual to end once and for all.”

“…So I ended up using the gun for nothing after all- the one time that death didn’t fulfill judgement.” Sododo admitted.

“So you would just leave Vekuku again, just like before until you find someone to fulfill the death requirement?” Washishi asked the major, who reluctantly nodded.

“Then…wouldn’t it all start over again?” Omimi asked. “I mean, he absorbed my energy, just so he could move again. And everything thereafter was just…well what happened some time ago.”

“Exactly! It doesn’t stop with him!” Omnini said in his frustration. “It would NEVER stop with him! He thinks that life was something he could play around with like it a child’s plaything! He’s just keep doing what he has been doing before: Abducting people and Keronians and transform them into experiments he could play around with- testing their limits, extracting cells, killing them! Then there’s the Hypnosis, which he can turn ordinary people into mindless slaves, turning them into the heartless monsters that scary stories are made of- only those who have the heart to listen, if they’re not terrified of their appearance!”

“Calm down.” Metata said. “What seemed like it was bad turned out to be good for us as well.”

“Oh, so that’s it- you’re happy that you became something like that? A White tiger that’s towering over everyone? Well last time I checked, you were hiding out in a lonely place until you founded keronians that accepted you like Sododo! Same for Washishi too for that matter! You were forced into this life and forced to see the odd stares and terrified looks of children when it happened!” The same tadpole said again in his anger starting to build as his electricity starts to build up a charge, with the dragon Keronian intrigued. “It’s stuff like this that makes me dislike the ideas of this- they were people just like us until some scientist turns into experiments- forcing them into this because what it can create! True, My whole life we were dealing with experiments- from when mom and dad were attacked, from when Omimi was kidnapped by that wacko, and even now! But they were innocent! People like Washishi went through this thinking that it could make their life better- but sometimes it can go wrong! It’s this change- these kind of Experiments- that end up destroying another’s life, because it usually ends with something awful happening to someone- and everyone scared or angry at it making the person around him believing that they were calling him a creature, a freak of nature or a monstrous, horrendous, ABOMINATION!”

When Omnini yelled out the last word of his sentence, his electricity was released into a massive surge passing through the room without causing harm, with only the lights flickering, but dimming as well. Omnini soon muttered, “I have to be the one to stop Vekuku… Everyone has something I want to do but can’t but I’m the one everyone who can count on when in a pinch.” However, Omnini was facing the floor before jerking his head up and saying, “Why can’t you guys see that? I’m like a hero or something! You have to leave it to me!” but when he looked up, he seen the faces of his friends and even his grandfather- They were angry…but it was aimed towards him. Washishi was the first to walk forward before saying something as –Outpost Sunset- begins to play…

"So...what you just said to us means you that you pitied experiments, huh? You always pitied experiments- always trying to help them fit in but always trying to show them you can be a hero to them... Then you pitied Dosese too then, because she was born an experiment and didn’t want her to feel bad about it."

"I...Wait...what?!" The black and red tadpole exclaimed at what he just heard. One would think he just made a VERY bad move.

"In fact, you pretty much pitied me and Metata too.” Washishi added, holding angry expression, sounding more annoyed. “It’s true that people were afraid of us- even you- but it was thanks to everyone that we were free! In fact, you were right; People were afraid of us at first- in fact I was ashamed to be seen in public until you welcomed us! Was it because of what we went through? That’s pretty much nice but there was something else that I noticed- how you reacted to everyone else and how you acted, especially right now. You don’t have a fear or anything; you pitied us because you were so high and mighty about it- because we had it worse than you did and you tried to make things better because you ‘felt’ like you had to! You were trying to play the selfless hero but only arrogant! Want to know why I said that? Because here’s why- if I didn’t know any better, you would’ve pitied Kabubu because he used an experimental process to change his skin- just so he could survive his own explosions. Personally, it’s a smart move so technically that wouldn’t of count- in fact it made him better than he was before. But you’d pity Tsunago too, who had forgotten when and how he became one. He was lost, scared and you wanted to be his friend, and yet you did nothing to help him. You pitied Akaka because she lost her own family who were transformed into experiments as well- especially since the mother needed to change to survive but you all you were thinking was how jealous you were; how hard she worked to work for her rank and how you waved your ‘chain of command’ stuff in her face about it I bet. And how about this for a kick to the tenders: you’d pity Samar- Omimi's friend and Nazozo's sister- because she was experimented on once and because of the life she went through and yet you knew nothing about her unlike your own sister. You don’t even know half the hell and pain Nazozo went through, nor did you experienced any loss like he did. The whole reason you did because you felt sorry for us; like you were better off than them, than us- but you’re NOT! You’re just being an arrogant condescending prick- just a kid trying to fit in an adult’s world and failing! You always tried to have people look up to you instead of down to you.”

That definitely began to get Omnini worried as he looked to be nervous now as he stammered, "I...I... I just wanted to help- I know I felt sorry for you guys but I justed wanted to help lessen your pain- I…!”

“You know...last I recalled, when I disguised Dosese as a normal Keronian.” Puriri said, recalling the time she first went to Keron since being sent there. “In a way...you were alienating her. She was never born a normal Keronian- she had always been an experiment. AS Washishi said she was born an experiment. You pitied her to the point that you tried to help her fit in! And technically speaking, sympathy is harmony of or agreement in feeling between equal people as a respect for each other or when they are sorrow knowing their pain- pitying is what people do when someone else is suffering to help them feel better. In short- you were trying to help them better as a nice act but probably because you felt like you needed to do that! And besides- you were happy that someone else was shorter than you and I take offense to that now!”

“I am NOT ALIENATING ANYONE!” Omnini said, sounding scared, but this time angry.

“Then maybe you should listen to what you just said then. Because you were damned well saying what was on your mind- something about ‘Everyone has something you don’t have?’ ‘Leaving it all up to you?’ You were jealous of everyone because everyone was stronger than you so you tried to show everyone up. I was beginning to think that you were friendly guy who had some good potential, but I thought wrong- you’re nothing- nothing more than a little over-competitive, over-bearing child.” Washishi said as he turned around. “I’m out of here. If you’re thinking of counting me in to stopping Vekuku, I was only going there because I knew the layout of the base, but after hearing what you said…I’m not letting a kid lead me to my death. Do us all a favour- get your fucking head out of the clouds and back to earth you arrogant wannabe.”

“W-Washishi…” Omnin said trying to stop him, as if the words just stung him like needles- no, like knives. A light went out to where the dragon hybrid was standing, with part of Omnini’s light dimming.

Metata walked forward next. He looked down to Omnini before the male said, “I was going to say that I took advantage of this change- and instead of seeing it as a curse, I saw it as a chance to do what I couldn’t- a new start to a remnant of my old life. I knew people are going to be afraid, but I want them to give me a chance. I would know that there are people who would see as such, and I am a man- er Keronian- of normally few words, but… people with fear would lead them to seek power. And when I heard what sad fate befell Akaka’s mother… I worry that I would share her fate. Omnini…walk a mile in their shoes- if you had your abilities now back then, people would look at you like they would look at experiments like you said- in fear and possibly try to have you think as an outcast, like someone else I’m sure you know*. Because if you don’t…then you would never understand what pain we feel.”

Omnini seemed to give a worried stare as Metata left. As he passed him to an exit, the light shuts again, -this time where Metata was. Next in line was Masasa as he looked to his boss…with his powers activate as red lines appeared and his grey eyes became yellow. “You know, I’m surprised you kept a straight face around Dosese and Tsunago. Tsunago couldn’t remember a single part of his past since he became what he was- he was a timid leaf and it was sympathy, but only because I knew what it’s like to lose your memories and not remember a single one of them. And if it weren’t for Metata, Dimama, and me, I think he would’ve been more afraid of you than you would’ve been of him when you first met him- only by a sliver. But then I remembered something- back then when you and I talked after my memories back and before then- you actually pitied me too; because how I was an amnesiac, but you never lost your memories. But it was after I got my memories back I now noticed that you were still looking down on me because I couldn’t let go of my past- but after I got over it and even reconciled with Jesasa, you still thought as lower than you. In a way now the shoe is on the other foot- I should be feeling sorry for you. But then again, I can choose to feel sorry- so I decline on making you feel better. Oh, and by the way- just because you’re my boss, that doesn’t mean I can’t talk shit in your face. My reason for being angry is the same as Wash- you were pretty much on a VERY high horse- but Wash pretty much knocked you down a peg- especially when he mentioned your own girlfriend. And NOW you threw this out in the open. You’re nothing than a whiny brat!” He then punches Omnini clear in the gut before he doubled over. “I’m out of here too. And by the way…” Omnini looked up only to see Masasa…or rather, Vanini as he triggered his state, “I’m choosing to back off from the mission. And why? Fuck you, that’s why.”

Omnini definitely was still holding his stomach in pain as Masasa left with silent words to Jesasa and Dimama who looked worried before Masasa saying something only to them as more lights shut off. Omnini managed to recover a little bit. Katsutsu was next as he looked down to him and said, “You know, I always wondered why I wasn’t a recruit in your Platoon. I always thought that Major Suhaha made a mistake. But both he and your sister saw potential in me; that I could aspire to greater heights. I knew that you were jealous because of the rank, but I didn’t want to accept it. Besides, cloning is considered experimenting too- by copying an existence into something else with minor differences. We developed differently as a result as I said. And I know how competitive that you can get…I guess the chain of command was all that you had to stay on top of me. But that’s not enough for you anymore. I guess…because you’re just jealous of me because I accepted to change and grew stronger out of it. Sorry, but I gotta stand down for the mission as well- if you can’t accept the good change that even those who are of a different creation or modified themselves can achieve, then you’ll never grow up- you’ll just…be treated the way you act like.”

“K..Katsutsu…” Omnini groaned as he straightened up but his legs still built bent. The light over Katsutsu soon powered off. Next up on his line as Sergeant Akaka moved forward. “Oh man…”

“Vekuku caused a lot of pain for everyone- especially to my family.” Akaka said while looking down. “He pressured my father with experimentations, and when dad couldn’t find anyone, he resorted to using my own siblings, just so Vekuku would be satisfied. When Father tried to make a stand, he found himself dealing incredible odds that overwhelmed him, and he tried to save my own mother just so she stay with us. My father couldn’t take it anymore- so he…took the easy way out. I knew that he always looked so sad, and the only time he smiled is when he was with me and my family. I founded one last journal- it said that my mother looked so sad- not just because my siblings were gone, but he was going to be gone too. My mother was desperate for answers, but lost her ability to talk- and not only that, the Vekuku hypnotized her- it gave her an incentive and increased her rage, blinding her with it with Vekuku using it… and your parents suffered for it.”

“But…why are you telling me this?” Omnini said.

“Because your family wasn’t the only one who suffered too- My whole immediate family was changed by Vekuku’s pressuring, and a lot of others lost their family members too- after seeing that report, in a way, your family ended up saving mine from a fate worse than death- your family ended up saving them from being Vekuku’s slave. Besides… You were just angry too.” The red tadpole said. “You were angry that you lost your family too. I was just…shocked that something like that happened. I was a child too when I thought this but It was because I was selfish for something getting retribution. To be honest, I felt…sympathy. If I knew what my father had gone through if I was my age now…I would’ve understood…I would’ve told him, that he should’ve tried to find an answer other than to say farewell to the living. This is just as well as my fight as yours, but...my father saved my mother. He changed her into that shape just so she could live, only for his efforts to be wasted. You were trying to play the hero even against those odds, but…seeing act like that earlier…I just…” Akaka looked to of bit her lip before just saying, “Seeing you trying to save Omimi back when we were kids is what convinced me to help you back then. But seeing you now…reduced to a big lump trying to be the big hero all on your own; I’ve pretty much lost my respect for you. I’m sorry but I’m not even risking my metal leg on this mission if you’re going to be the leader.”

The black and red tadpole looked like he was trying to say something, but Akaka then just Slaps him across the face before her fell to the floor again. Akaka walks across the way with another light shutting off once again to the one that left once stood, muttering ‘Take those words into mind, wuss.’ Omnini rubbed his cheek to where he was struck before Sododo and Suhaha walked towards him as the theme ends. “Oh no.”

“Omnini, the army had always been a dangerous choice for kids- a lot of trainees would’ve been killed in the war, some of them just kids. I can understand why your grandfather would go as far to stop you and Omimi from signing up.” Sododo said. “Your Grandfather would’ve wanted you to live a good life away from the army. But he had no choice when he heard that Vekuku became active again- it was the only choice for him to keep tabs on you. He told me this himself once… and I was right to believe in what I said before- you’re still just a child. What chance do you have in an adult’s world by yourself?”

“Indeed.” Suhaha sighed. “I feared that if Vekuku had captured you, he would’ve turned you and Omimi against me, and into experiments more than likely. I had to make sure that the both you were safe when Shiroro and Kuroro were gone, even though it was dangerous. I tried to end things with Vekuku, but I had failed…and now you were caught in it because of my mistake. We all are. I would’ve wanted you to have a good future away from the army, but…fate and Vekuku had other plans. I just wished that you were away from the army and our conflict…I just wished that I could do everything over again. I would’ve protected you and Omimi and left you in the care of Kuroro’s parents. If nothing had happened to Shiroro and Kuroro…it would’ve gone a lot differently.”

“G-grandpa…” Omnini replied with his eyes beginning to water.

“And now this conflict had even affected you- changed you into a foolhardy, big headed hero. Everyone respected you but after what we just heard and saw…the bonds you have created- born from nothing more than just something created from your ego- it started to crumble didn’t it?” The Major said with his head lowered. “…I’m so sorry…Omnini…your skill is improving and I was thinking taking with me, but how can I take someone who has so little self-worth with me into a fight that even I can’t win on my own? I cannot have you interfere with this battle. Once this is finally over, I want you- and just you- to resign from the army.”

“But…Grandpa!” Omnini tried to say. “You-you can’t do this to me! I can do this! I can-“
“THAT’S AN ORDER, PRIVATE.” Suhaha said in a commanding voice startling even Shiroro. “This mission falls to me, to Nagaga and to Basasa as well, as we had our past with him. No one else interferes. I will not risk the future of the family due to my own past. And I will not have my own grandson to further march into his death. Vekuku is an enemy to his own race, but matters will be settled in my way. I expect a tendered resignation for when I return, Omnini.” Omnini tried to say something but he was brushed off when the grandfather added, “No exceptions.”

“But, what about me, Grandfather?” Omimi asked stoically. “Do I have to leave too?”

“…No. Omimi, your life been different too to say the least- but it wouldn’t able to change who you are.” The Major said. “You proved to me that your own heart and will never waver- and even if it doe, you try to figure out why. It was this and your dedication to your family and friends wouldn’t sever is what convinced to think of your participation. I think you’re the more capable candidate than your older brother to join the battle. But I must ask that you stay behind on this mission as well.”

“Erm…alright.” The reluctant granddaughter responded.

Shiroro definitely sounded like she was trying to reason when she commented, “Fa- I mean…Major, this is Omnini’s choice- you simply cannot expect him to comply to this… I know that he has some sort of illusion to his thinking, but he worked hard because of us! And do you not remember when you joined our platoon? Even you couldn’t defeat Vekuku by yourself- mother had to bring your injured body to us!”

“Shiroro, for over two thousand nights I wished to make peace with you for what I had done. And I wanted to thank you for at least giving me another chance.” Suhaha said. “But…in the case if I don’t make it back, I want you to take over the family legacy with Kuroro.”

“Wh-what?!” The Army Nurse stuttered. “Y-you want me and Kuroro to be in charge of it?”

“I know you won’t let me down.” The Major said while brushing her daughter’s head when he approached her. “You’re family, and I left guidance for you to follow. It was my baby shower gift for you when Omnini came, but you never unwrapped it.”

“…I…I’m surprised that you were more faithful in me than I thought.” Shiroro admitted somewhat surprised.

“I have faith in all my family.” The Major said. “I just want the best for my family. But In Omnini’s case however…I wished that that night would’ve gone different for you. I would’ve wanted Omnini to lead a more…peaceful life. But now seeing him…I’m afraid that metaphorically, this isn’t for kids. Omnini has to stay behind.” Kuroro was surprised that Shiroro’s father had wanted him to lead his family in his stead. However, his attention was elsewhere- to Omnini who was starting to cry, though he looked like he was trying to stop himself from doing so- most notable was his heavier breathing and even some trembling. The Major notices this as he said, “…Perhaps we should’ve carried our conversation outside. Let us do so.”

“Major- I mean, Father Suhaha, perhaps I should-” Kuroro tried to say, only for him to be stopped by Sododo, who shook his head.

“This is Omnini’s mistake. If he wants to be treated as an adult, then let this and the other reality check be his reminder that he has a long way to go.” The Former first Lieutenant said. “I thought he may have the potential but… if he’s going to keep acting, then I guess I was wrong.”

Kuroro, however, was one of three people who was actually disappointed than angry- Shiroro was one of them as well before being distracted. However, as the two left, they looked to their son with a disappointed look as their lights dimmed out. Puriri looked reluctant, remembering what she said before to give a worried look and disappearing with her light abilities.

“C-capable… I’m…incapable?” Omnini’s tears had soon hitting the floor as whimpering was heard. A lot of lights had dimmed out, including the one Omnini was left underneath although it was closed to fading completely. Omnini looked to be a really darkened room now and now appeared to of been scarred- and a lot deeper than he wanted. When he first lost to Sododo, he found out the hard way of how weak he was combat wise- and now this…everyone just treating him differently. At an emotional level, he was weak; how he would’ve been more of a peaceful sort- but what happened that night scarred him with a fear that grew with each negative encounter with an experiment- and another point of his life when his first encounter with the scientist changed him… However, for Suhaha not to wish this fate to Omnini and to see what he had become… he understood why, just…to him, for his current life in the army to just end like this; it was the way he said that upset him. It was as if everything he worked for was nothing more than a dream- and this was the point a nightmare began to happen. And to salt into the wound created... there was only one person left inside the entire room that was left with Omnini…and only other person who shared a disappointed look: the leader’s younger sister. “Omimi...I...”

“...I should go.” Omimi finally said, who, for the most part was silent throughout the whole conversation. However, her reaction prompts Omnini to give quick grunt from him. “Listen... When I leave, I'm going with Akaka once she calms down to tell Dosese about what happened- about how you acted, and what Washishi said, what Masasa said…what everyone said.”

“N-no, you can't!! You just...” Omnini looked like he was pleading to his own younger sister, looking desperate and grovelling before he realized what’s happening- what he just did.

“Brother… No, Omnini.” Omimi said, correcting herself. “You're my big brother- big siblings are supposed to protect their younger siblings, not the other way around. Back when I was younger, you were someone I looked up to- someone that I want to aspire to- but now It feels that...I'm the one who's defending you- like I'm your shield. But I'm not. You're just you, and I'm me. It makes me wonder though...sure you're fast now now, but what about then? Were you just slow to begin with or were letting me catch up? Were you a coward back then or did something make you into an accidental hero that you said ‘roll with it’? What made you want to become a hero? Because if you don’t know the answer…then you’re a lot worse than Tamama; You’re just a big…blowhard. I think I understand why I hated Tamama for his attitude…it was because of you.”

“M…Me?” Omnini let out in response. “Why would I be the reason that you hate Tamama?”

“Because…” Omimi looked she swallowed something bitter as a tear looked to of formed before she blurted out, “It was because of how you acted!” –Tragic Decision- plays as Omnini winced at the comment. “I thought you were cool the way you tried to save me back in Vekuku’s base! I wanted to be like you- strong brave, you know stuff like that! That was why I had a crush on Tamama too! Because he was a lot like you! But then came our journey and I saw how Tamama tried to be a glory hog! He tried to be a complete showoff, trying to prove to everyone that he’s a big hero!” Omnini looked intimidated by her sister but also ashamed as well more so when he saw that Omimi was crying while she continued to speak. “I can’t believe that I didn’t see it sooner! The reason you were tried to act tough and everything was because you didn’t want to disappoint me! The whole reason you tried to fight something out of your league was because I couldn’t it! I admired you for it but…I wanted to say I can be strong too! I wanted to be happy being your brother! But…seeing you like this now…” Omimi soon looked to of held back something before energy started to form with the heat evaporating the tears on her face. “Get up!”

“What?” Omnini let out before seeing his sister glowing with energy. “Uh…what are you doing?”

However that answer was about to be answered shortly when on his eye he sees his own little sister giving a combat yell about to punch him occur. His irises looked to of shrunked as Omnini soon backed off. He soon noticed his sister in a battle stance with the theme ending. “Grab your weapon and fight!”

“Omimi, why?! Why would you do this?!” Omnini demanded. “Do we really have to fight?”

“Yes we have to!” Omimi let out in response. “Let me ask you something? Do you think you can win against me?!”

“What do you mean win against you!” Omnini said. “Do you really want me to fight you?”

“Yes, because I have to know the truth- why didn’t you stand up for yourself?! You let everyone walk on top of you! You let Masasa and Akaka hit you! You let Grandpa tell you to quit and you practically ate Sododo’s words! Do you really think you’re that weak? Do you really have that bad a self-confidence problem that the only to hide was with acting?!  So let me tell you something- I’m fighting you to find out why you’re like this- to know the truth!”

“But…What do you want me to say?!” Omnini asked, sounding nervous before he dodged another of Omimi’s punches however, she formed an orb mid punch before he realized what it was and gets blasted from the attack. Omnini looked to be on the ground before standing up. Omnini looked badly intimidated by Omimi but part of her looked to be crying still.

“Please answer me… What's REALLY holding you back? Is it because everyone’s getting stronger than you? Is it because everyone is maturing from everything so far? Or maybe…you can’t change yourself because you haven’t been you?” Omimi asked before while the heat of her energy caused her tears to evaporate again.

“…I don’t know…” Omnini let out. “But I wonder…I just wanted to help everyone because I didn’t want anyone to think that I was weak- to make you think I was weak. All I wanted to do is show everyone that  I can work hard!”

“Then what’s the point of those times that we were little?! Was those entire times more of your act!” Omimi said before summoning her gauntlets. “Was it something that you actually genuinely cared for? Or was it something that you can do on your own? At this point I can’t tell the difference!”

“I truly did be an older brother to you!” Omnini let out. “You guys gave me support to get through this! I can do some things on my own!”

“Then you can fight me on your own!” Omimi said before rushing to him as –For the Sake of Mutual Proof- played. “I don’t want you hold back against me- show that you can hold you own, even against your own sibling!”

Omnini soon used his electricity to move out of the way and summoned his sword, and shortly thereafter, rushed to his sister. Omnini and Omimi soon literally punched other in the face with their non-dominant hands.
