I really liked the Burton movie (despite a lot of people not liking it). I found Johnny's portrayal to be something in between Mcgee and Disney. he had the quirky whimsiness of the Disney Hatter but the underlying madness of the Mcgee Hatter. He was in control but it was shown that if pushed to far he could likely snap. I found it very refreshing.
