Description This is still a slight work in progress, but it is finished enough to show on DA. I got back into watching the old school DBZ and DBGT episodes and figured I would try my hand at making an actual working scouter. Although I couldn't replicate the sounds when activated, I was able to integrate 3x LED lights that display on the green view screen and look very much like they do on the TV show when activated. The red button on the side activated the lights just like the anime scouters from the show. The bottom photo is the best one I could take that shows how it lights up. Granted its tough to catch flashing lights on camera lol

I made this entirely out of scratch, I cut up an old pair of rifle range ear muffs for the general body, but because of their weight and thickness i had to do some serious modifications to the original design. the rest of the scouter is made from scratch with plasticard, plexiglass and lots and lots of drummel work. I used base-coat clear car paint on this one to make sure the finish holds up, no cheep Walmart Krylon here kiddies I plan on swapping out the eye piece as I did not have green plexiglass handy for making this one, so I had to use green translucent glass paint which really didn't stick to plastic so well. Once I swap that out, it should be ready for wearing at a Con.....and yes it does mount to my ear without a silly headset like the crappy Taiwan toy ones needed.

How do you get it to mount on without a headset? It's a secret I have trying to figure out and I plan on 3d printing scouter but I'd like to know how you did it in case I need a back up plan. Please.

does this actually fit on your ear without a head strap?  like does it stay on?  I have the toy ones that come with the head strap, the one that makes sound and the one that doesnt, but I want it to stay on without a head strap.  You think I can get some shooting ear protector muffs and use the squish part somehow?

Awesome. Would you be willing to make a video to show off its operation?

This is real slick, a tutorial would be so awesome. The piece connecting the lens to the ear looks like it would be difficult.

What did you do/use to get it to stay on your head on it's own?

Of course its legit!!! When have you known me to make anything that wasn't? lol I just need to swap the screen out with one cut from actual green plexiglass and its done. You know you can always borrow it for cons, just have to come find me

Tutorial PLEASE. I have struggled for years with trying to make a scouter that doesn't require a headband, just knowing how to accomplish that would be enough for me to try to craft my own.

On a side note, where DO you get green/red/blue see-through plexiglass?
