And no, chameleocoons aren't monotremes (lol, metronome spell check). Their behavior is sort of like a combination of a lot of things that inspired me, including rhinoceros horn-bills, anteaters, raccoons, chameleons (duh on those last two), and tons of other animals, especially rainforest ones. I've been thinking about doing an actual species ref in the future.
