The Digivolution Chart project is reborn!Here's the first chart in the series: Botamon's family!
UPDATE 10/27: adding the Fresh stage into the charts and renaming as such. Chart remains fundamentally the same.
Legend:
- Blue Lines indicate a regular Digimon evolving into an X-Antibody Digimon.
- Purple Lines denotate a Dark Digivolution line.
- 'Black' subspecies of regular Digimon occupy the same spots in the chart as their ordinary counterparts, and can be considered interchangeable.
I know a lot of people will be happy to see GeoGreymon's line finally fit into Agumon's family!
Omitted for the sake of space: Triceramon -> SaberLeomon and Devidramon -> LadyDevimon -> Lilithmon and Bellestarmon/Junomon (sorry!)

Wait, Scorpiomon digivolves to HerculesKabuterimon? How is that possible?

My thought was they're both arthropods, both have the gold armor... and most of all, Shellmon actually digivolved to HerculesKabuterimon in Digimon World 1. Since Scorpiomon is a great ultimate stage for Shellmon, and if you assume that the two have some bug data/DNA (since Shellmon can evolve from Kunemon as well), it sort of makes sense IMO, like it's sort of the spiritual successor or fully-fleshed-out version of Shellmon -> HercKabu.
That, and people always seem to be upset that there's no mega-level crustacean digimon for Scorpriomon to turn into; since Plesiomon (an aquatic guy) is his main mega already, I thought it might make sense to have his other mega stage still be an arthropod-- just an insect, in this case.

They are both capable of solo evolution into MegaSeadramon by this chart.

These look great, although some choice are a bit.... odd.
1) Is it really logical to have VictoryGreymon evolve standardly from Metal/RizeGreymon, instead of Wargreymon? He is far more powerful, after all, as displayed in his battle with Neo in the manga.
2) Wouldn't it make sense to add Spinomon and Triceremon to the Tyrranomon line, instead of a seperate Betamon line?
3) Perhaps Volcdramon would make sense instead of Vermilimon, at which point you can replace Spinomon with AncientVolcanomon

Ultimately it's pretty subjective when it comes to stuff that isn't solidly established in the games/anime/etc.
1) For the format of my charts, yes. VictoryGreymon is not a Super Ultimate/Mega-level guy, so having him evolve only from WarGreymon wouldn't make much sense. A slide-evolution is one potential option, like with Tyrannomon -> DarkTyrannomon and MetalGreymon -> SkullGreymon, but I haven't marked those in these charts. May do so in the future, not sure. Otherwise, with no real line to call his own, I would maintain that the two Greymon ultimates are the only real choice for his precursor, albeit with the assumption that they have special requirements in order to do so to justify the Digimon of 'average' strength turning into a much stronger one. MegaKabuterimon -> TyrantKabuterimon is another evolution in the same vein.
2) Debatably. I've always seen the Tyrannomon and Triceramon lines as being somewhat genetically similar, but unrelated, like their IRL counterparts. In this case, there are so many Tyrannomon variations that I thought it best to allocate them to their own specialized lines, since I'm giving guys relatively few possible evos/prevos in these charts-- it's a matter of like, 'who are the 2-3 best evos for this guy out of all the possible ones'. So while I do think Triceramon CAN work as an evolution for Tyrannomon, I decided that Master/MetalTyrannomon were better choices overall, and that Monochromon and Tuskmon are more fitting prevos for Trikemon than Tyrannomon is.
3) Yeah, Volcdramon is a perfectly viable substitution for Vermilimon in this instance, it's more that I'm still kind of trying to figure out what to do with some of the X-antibody guys at this point. Flarerizamon -> Volcdramon -> UltimateBrachiomon is totally valid, IMO. (The Ancient guys I have something specific in mind for tho)

YAY, Betamon becomes Plesiomon in another Digivolution chart (I have always used Plesiomon as the "Secondary Canon Mega")
Also i would use Volcdramon over Vermilliomon, makes more sense for both Flalizarmon and Spinomon to have a connection to him.

There will be a Pichimon/Bukamon one eventually (IE: when I have time =3= something I'm short on lately, sad to say Dx), but Chapmon is part of a different line. o3o I have Chapmon and Budmon as evolved forms of the obscure Fresh Digimon Datirimon.

Im currently working on finishing the original series v-pet lines; Tanemon is finished and hopefully Tokomon and Pagumon will be close behind. After that probably the rest of the pendulum families.
