Well, I'd say it's worth looking into one- and two-point perspective, at least. Three-point is good too but I can't help you much there.
One point perspective is what you would use in a drawing like this one. Find the horizon line and the vanishing point, and that will tell you how to construct the buildings around as well as where things should be placed.
Another thing with this drawing is that you did it from a perspective in the air, while having the character be viewed from the back straight on. Make sure you've got the same perspective on people as you do for your location! That will help it look worlds better.
