As a teen, I LOVED Arwen in the Lord of the Rings movies. Ethereal elf girl with a sword who has a chase on horseback? I was in awe. Maybe because I didn't see very many women kicking butt and going on adventures. Arwen doesn't even have that huge of a role in the movies, but I loved her.

I fell deeply in love with the fantasy genre with the LotR movies and was absolutely here for it when there was a surge of YA fantasy books with strong female protagonists (even if some were done better than others 😅 we'll ignore the plethora of poorly executed ones for this post 😬).
